What about people who do game reproductions? Most people are looking for the Earthbound experience on the original hardware which does not necessarily mean it has to be the official product. SNES powerpak or a repro could easily do it for a fourth of the cost.

I wouldn't mind a port of this on the Nintendo DS. Just remove the copyrighted material that have licensing issues in it. Like music and pop culture references.

I just want to see what everyone keeps talking about with Earthbound. Never had the chance to play it legitimately.

Yeah, if you remove the music and pop culture references, then it would be a game you'd want to quit about 1/4 the way through. The game also has anti-piracy which activates when played on hardware.
