In Canada that is.
I made this because throughpout May there's an AMAZING deal going on, totally worth it for people to drive across the border for.

All games need to have a trade in value of 8$ or more.

Before you yell thats alot consider this:
Trade values:
Oblivion-44
Madden 06-8
Mario sunshine-14

System Trade Deals.
Trade in 8 games and get a NEW PSP Core+one NEW copy of, Loco Roco, NBA 07, Gangs Of London, Daxter, Syphen Filter Free.
Trade in 6 games and get a NEW NDS Lite Free
Trade in 4 games and get a USED Xbox Free.
Trade in 10 Games and get a NEW PS3 60gb for $399.99
Trade in 10 Games and get a NEW PS3 20gb for $289.99
Trade in 10 games and get a NEW 360 PREMIUM+Splinter cell for $239.89
Trade in 10 games and get a NEW 360 CORE for $139.89

Trade 3 games get Halo 3 for free. Trade 4 and get the CE version for free.

Eb Canada has always had a trade 3 get a free game up to $70 for free deal every day of the year. Reminds Rhino customers of that chan before GS ate them?

This would so be front page news if they did this in the US.

I have to say I'm more than a little jealous. Being in Texas however makes me have no chance in hell of partaking in this.

man I really wish that deal was going on at the old rhino where I live. I would so trade in enough games to get a new console.

That is one of the most awesome deals ever. I mean, ~$48 bucks worth of trade-in credit for a new DS Lite? That's awesome!

I bet the list of excluded games for this promo is HUGE. I mean, otherwise, you could have people buying up copies of Powerdrome Racing for PS2 in NY near the US/Canadian border and getting a used Xbox for $8 or so US by going to an EB in Canada.

If the system deals were WAY better(don't need nor want a PSP), I would SO consider driving the 5 or so hours from here to do this.

But, imagine if you get caught coming back with that $400 60 gig PS3. Then, you have to declare it and POOF, there goes the deal.

And, I wonder why the "ELITE" 360 isn't part of this?

And YEAH, if GS in the US did this, they might not actually have my full vitriol for being as fulla crap a place to buy anything as Wally World or CC.

I would abuse the hell out of this deal if I were any closer to Canada. I'd go to a major city and go from store to store until i got banned from further trade-ins.

Maybe you didnt see that THERE IS NO EXCLUSION LIST!!!!!
ANY GAME ABOVE 8 QUALIFIES!
Why trade Oblivion in though?
Because once the GotY edition comes out, it'll be worthless.

I traded mine in, and I'll be picking up the GotY edition with all the extra goodies on it like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.

Damn, those are some incredible deals.

I would totally send someone 6 games who lived in canada if they'd go get me a PSP.

Count me in as well, some Canadian cags should start setting this up for American cags, you'd never hear another "Canada sucks" from me in my entire life.

A trade in value of $8 or more means alot of the Kmart clearance titles are excluded then, which imo is the ONLY way I'd even half consider getting in on this.

Any game released longer than 6 months ago is usually down to shit value for GS and all their related stores. Now, if you're a gamer who buys a game for $50, plays it and beats it ONCE, then trades it, this is GREAT for you.

But, I'll say it again, NOTHING I OWN would probably qualify for this and the Kmart games are probably all low trade value too.

Check his opening post, MADDEN 06 of all games gets $8...

I'm pretty sure anything from the CC, Best Buy, or Target clearances would work.

But, what does it COST to buy said game? If it's over the $8 trade value, then even though you're getting a PSP for trading 8 games, it's still a rip off imo.

But, I digress....since we could all go back and forth about this for DAYS about what you have to put IN to get the 'free' systems back OUT.

I don't think you get the trade in value as well as the system.

Are you really going to say that getting a $170 dollar system for around $100 or 8 games you have kicking around is not a good deal?

Damn right I am, specially if it's games I gotta buy n they cost me $100, since I think anything from Sony isn't worth the inflated price they're charging. $250 for the longest time for a PSP? Or even $150 for a DS. Wtf are people smoking to pay these kind of prices.

But, I guess I am a TRUE cheap ass gamer. If it costs me more than $5-6, then it's not a 'deal' to me.

WAIT
Games like Mario sunshine, pikmin, luigi's mansion, freakin gamecube LAUNCH TITLES QUALIFIES

People have been getting SYSTEMS FOR LESS THAN 50% OFF!

I was under the impression that there were no exclusions and I could go get some $3-5 games from Gamestop here in america, trade them in at gamestop canada, and get a PSP/DS Lite..

If that's not the case, my mistake. The PSP is a ripoff, but I'd buy one for less than $75, just to play Mega Man Powered up, MGS:pO, and Tekken: DR, oh and loco roco.

Consider this as well - trade in values in Canada are higher than in the US since games cost more there. Games that only trade in for three or four bucks here might be at the $8 level in Canada.

For example, Tony Hawk P8 is $9 at CostCo (check the deals section), and trades in for $15 (I think) in the US. Buying 6 of those for $54 and change equals a new DS Lite (which retails for considerably higher in Canada, I believe).

This deal rules.

DSL in U.S-129.99
DSL in Canada-149.99

Well most people are getting the console for around 50% off. I'll be getting my DS hopefully this weekend for probably 70$, no tax (And this includes what I PAID for everything). So I'm saving like 100 dollars, lol. DS for the price of a game is pretty awesome. I got a 360, and don't care about a PS3 or a PSP...so I won't bother spending more cash for that stuff, but maaaybe if they get that trade 10 for a free Wii deal thats been rumoured...

But ya, least I've seen for a DSL from anyone posting is probably around 60 dollars or so, counting in what they actually spent on all the games when they bought them initially.

There's no way I can get in on this, but I just want to make sure nobody made a silly mistake:

These are $U.S. prices, not Canadian Dollar prices, right?

It would only help us U.S. gamers if it were, but I just want to make sure it's cleared up for everyone.

huh? Do you mean the TIV req. for the games? Well it has to be 8 dollars CANADIAN trade in minimum per game for it to be allowed for the deal...

So ya...in US you guys usually get sweet prices for clearance games, even new, that would work with this deal....you'd probably get like 90% off xD

Spades do you live in canada, or are you traveling up there?

ya I LIVE in Canada... by the way, today I went out and got all 6 games, and in total from everything I spent INCLUDING tax, it will cost me only 50-65 dollars (Canadian) depending on how tomorrow goes cause I have 2 games I spent 15$ on right now, but before I trade em in for my DS I'll try to find 2 more cheap ones. So that's pretty awesome...over 100$ savings :D. Can't wait for tomorrow...any suggestions on the BEST DS games? I REALLY like RPGs on handhelds and Strategy games.

Works great too cause this week I'll be travelling a lot, so I have something to do now. Used to just look out the window...lol

Advance Wars DS is excellent if you can find it. Touch Detective, Contact, and Trace Memory are all pretty fun DS games as well.

aaaa ya Advance Wars...forgot about that. Haven't played an Advance Wars game since the first one on the GBA and I really enjoyed that...it's not a sequel though, is it? And Trace Memory seems interesting too...the other two I'm not so sure of if they sound like my kinda games (plus the reviews are pretty weak..)
