A little bird that talks to much gave me this information.

9/9-9/11
GET an additional 10% trade-in credit on EVERYTHING except systems with your EB Edge Card. This is on top of any current deals like "More you trade, more your paid" and "Get $10 per title when trade toward"

9/16-9/18
"BUY 2, GET 1 FREE" on games,CDs, and DVD!!
He did not say if it is new and/or preowned.

I know they've done the B2G1 online in the past, to coincide with the B&M sales. So it is possible that it will be online. I guess we we'll know soon enough.

I know it's a bit late for this now since it's over, but the reason you didn't get the 10% increase on the system was because the increase was for trade on games and DVDs only.

I hope I can find some games to get at my EB. I know they had Virtua Tennis for 2.99 and a couple other nice looking DC prices, so this should turn out pretty good.

Also, is it just my EB, or has the prices dropped insanely on everyone else's EB games prices? I went in about a month back and they had Street Fighter 3: Third Strike for around 24.99, but when I dropped in yesterday evening it was down to 14.99. Plus lots of others seemed to have had a couple of bucks knocked off the price. I was under the impression all EB prices are nationwide, so when I saw them lowered it kind of stunned me.

I saw on the CAG-O-Matic a few days ago, a bunch of games got the $17.99 -> $14.99 and $14.99 -> $12.99 drop at EB.
yes, edge is stackable, and this sale will be with pre-owned only
43% off if you buy 3 games that are equal in price

:dunce: D'oh. And I just ordered 2 preowned games last week online. I'm a moron. Should have checked here before I did it. At least I did get the CAG deal and free shipping.

Here is a formula for B2G1 w/ 10% (edge card) versus 25% off & free shipping (CAG15 + Edge Card + Saver)

.75x = .56x + 1.99 (Cheap Ass Shipping)
X = $10.47
$10.47/3 = $3.49

So, if your getting 3 games of the same value B2G1 w/ 10% off is cheaper unless you are getting games thats is $3.49 or below.

Now if you they won't let us stack the 10% on B2G1 then its:

.75x = .66x + 1.99 (Cheap Ass Shipping)
X = $22.11
$22.11/3 = $7.37

Being a Cost Accountant and a CAGer is dangerous!

Eh, I agree, I've never seen EB have a b2g1 sale. Then again, it's almost that time of the year for ToyRus to have their b2g1! :D
It's been asked before, but I'll ask again.

Do we know if this is going to be online?
Nobody has mentioned anything about it being online as well. I have asked a few EB employees around here and they have no clue about a B2G1 sale this weekend.

Boy, I'm going to try to clean up tomorrow. My EB has quite a few great SNES games (FF3, Lufia, Breath of Fire, etc.) and a few hard to find playstation rpg's I've had my eye on (most notably a complete Brigandine).

I just hope my wife doesn't kill me before I get to play them. ;)

ah... cool. Thanks for the info.

This thread was turning into a 'Best Buy 4.99' thread... I must have missed your post in all of the garbage.

So... any friendly neighborhood EB employees have any insight if we should see this sale online today? Or should I just expect to continue my time-wasting at work to check for it?

Thanks OP! I can confirm this is a go in the Chicagoland area. Just picked up Radiata Stories, Paper Mario: TTYD and Phantasy Star Online: 1&2 for $71 after edge card. The guy was telling me how some guy came in bummed out how he got a ticket, and needed cash to pay for it, so he traded in a one-week old game... I love it!

Dunno if this is the right place, but my EB is sold out of Nintendogs but the guy said you could preorder it again, and if you did, you would receive the preorder bonus lunch bag. So if anyone missed it the first time (or wants another one), you can get the Nintendogs lunch bag with another preorder now.

I can never find 3 items of comparable value that I want at the same time.

If, if, I could get three $17.99 games that I want . . . I'd pay $36 plus tax . . . Maybe $33ish with the 10% off. If, I order 3 $17.99 games at the time I find them and want them I pay $13.50 shipped plus tax each (with online codes) ($40 for 3). So, I would do the buy2get1 to save a few bucks but I can't find 3 games instore at the same time that I want . . . ever.

For me, I never buy more expensive games from EB used because I can wait for the lower price point.

I'm thinking of giving up on some of my "InProcess" items from the BB sale and just getting them here.

Now for me, the grand total of a $9.99 BB game shipped is $13.01.
Now many of the $9.99 Best Buy games (BloodRayne 2, for example) are $17.99 at EB.

Normally it would sting to pay more for a USED version of the product when I juuuuuuust missed getting it new, for less. But at 43% off (three games of equal value with one being free, plus Edge card discount), each $17.99 game becomes just $11.15 after tax. So in the end it's $11.15 used vs. $13.01 new. If the games come complete, then it's definitely worth going for in my case. This will be convenient - since I have been freshly denied in the BB sale, I've got TONS of games in mind that I could use for this sale. So finding three games of equal value to buy will be easier than usual.

Does anyone have experience with the store locator on EBGames.com? Is is as shoddy as the one at BB or does it tend to be accurate?

Pretty accurate in my experience... I even looked for Lost Kingdoms at EB last time I was there, after ordering it online, and the locator was indeed accurate, they had a copy on the shelf.

I just called a local EB and the guy said that the sale is on, and all stores in the area will have it through the weekend. And I specified dvd's AND games when I asked; he said yes.

Not that I doubt any posters here, I just figured I'd go ahead and call before making the trip. After the bizarre irregularities of the BB clearance, I can't be too careful on any deal. ;-) Looks like it's time to start the weekend with a CheapAss shopping spree!

when I was at work yetsterday, we got a huge banner that read "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" on all pre-played games and DVDs. So the sale should be good.

yeah I still got $71 in credit, so I'm taking advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free, if i buy 4 games could i get 2 games free...I'm just making sure

Bah, not being online kills it for me. My local EB is really small, out of the way, and never has anything good.

The two cheapest... yes. You can buy 6 and get 3 free... the skys the limit.

My EB (Johnstown, PA) knew nothing of the sale, said they get a months calendar and they know ahead of time......poop. Wasted my lunch break.

My EB was the same way... maybe it starts tomorrow.
The two cheapest... yes. You can buy 6 and get 3 free... the skys the limit.
If you buy a whole bunch of games, make sure they ring it up in your favor. Like say you get three $17.99 games and three $9.99 games. By default, they may charge you for all three $17.99 games and just give you two of the $9.99 games for free. If you get a cool cashier though they might sort the games in your favor, so you get one of the $17.99 games for free. Just make sure, and if all else fails just make separate purchases for each group of games.

yea right I double the cashiers will be that nice. buy 2 get 1 free the free item always applies towards the cheapeast or equal value of course.

The EB employee at downtown San Jose doesn't know about the B2G1 on all used games.
He did point out B2G1 on used PC games.

Just went to Ebgames on my lunch break and the B2G1 for pre-played games was going on. I got Mario Sunshine, Zelda Windwaker, and X-men Legends for $35.00 with tax. Not to shabby.

BTW: The B2G1 stacks with your EB Edge Card.
