EB/GameStop DS Contest - Awesomely Bad Prizes

The exact name of the competition escapes me, because of the details I discovered. I can't find any mention of it on thier sites. It doesn't seem like it's at every store, so YMMV. However, here is the jist.

Starting Saturda Sept.9, EBStop will be hosting DS tournaments. First week is Mario Kart DS, Second week is Tetris DS, Third week is New Super Mario Brothers.

You need only your DS, all games will be downloadable.

Each week three prizes will be given out-

3rd: Some Stickers
2nd: T-shirt
1st: ....

They brought it out in a brushed silver box with "Nintendo" nicely printed on the cover. Underneath... was a giant, the size of your fist, ghetto-tastic - homeboy charm with a monster phat necklace (a byzentine chain, if memory serves... I work part time doing jewelery repair).

A huge, silver crown (a rounded kind, like on the back of a checker, not the spikey kind) engraved with "Nintendo Master" or something... I couldn't read it because I was bedazzled by the tackiness.

Me wanty.

It's so horribly tasteless that it's just beautiful.

I suck at Mario Kart, so my best chance is with Tetris.

On the off chance I win more than once, I'm making one of the other ones into a ring.
 
I too have seen the first place prize.
I agree, it's so tacky and rediculous that I want it.

Thing is, I work there, so there's no way of me getting it. THe T-shirt's pretty nifty.
 
It's probably the work of an overzealous Nintendo rep. They get the stuff from Nintendo and get it out to the stores. Mine used to want to do this kind of thing all the time.
 
I'm awesomely bad at Tetris, and great at the other games. I don't even have a DS, I just play them in the displays at stores. Can't I just use one of those? :D
