EB/Gamestop Halo 2 $20 Trade-In Value
So are they taking the (coll. ed) or the (regular edition)? The website lists the regular edition.
Both, but it looks like they're giving the same amount for both.

As for the question earlier, no, you can't use store credit on Gamestop's website.

Just called my Gamecrazy and they are selling Halo 2 reg edition used for $12 and some change making it probably less than $15 after taxes. This would get you $5 per copy when trading it in for $20 at gamestop/eb.

Asked first and learned that the Regular and CE are getting $20 trade-in. Ended up getting $22 for the CE I picked up at TRU for $5

More $$$ for my Wii-fund.

Yeah, thanks OP! I found a copy of H2 in a GC, brought it for $12.99 + tax, walked next door to the GS, got $22 credit... only need to do this twice more and I can get my FFXII CE for $40!!!

Thanks to this deal and the Blockbuster 50% off deal I ended up picking up Saint's Row and Enchanted Arms for free! Thank you OP! :applause:

Yea, they won't take multiple copies of the same game. Best to space it out over several different EB's + GS's and several days.
I found out that the MORE card from GS does work at EB, but the EDGE card does not work at GS yet. Furthermore your Gamebucks from GS do not work at EB either. They said that in October this should be straight. Still though it kinda ticks me off or I would've been able to pick up a used Dead Rising.

OR, just do seperate transactions.

I don't know if separate transactions would actually work. I just got back from swapping a copy of Halo 2 for $20 worth of in-store credit. They took my information down off my license during the process. I suppose that is their method of keeping tabs on people and making sure they don't abuse a trade in deal such as this one.

Unless you have a bunch of copies of Halo 2 sitting around, this probably isn't the greatest deal to try and build up store credit with. As was stated earlier in the thread, the cheapest and most readily available copies of Halo 2 are in GameCrazy stores at $12.99. That $12.99 becomes $13.96 after tax. So you can either turn that $13.96 into $16 cash or $20 worth of store credit. Doesn't seem worth it in my opinion to go driving around scooping up copies of Halo 2 from GameCrazy stores to trade in at GS/EB.

Despite this, I did go by GameCrazy to pick up a copy of Halo 2 to trade to GameStop. I turned the aforementioned $20 in store credit into a brand new copy of Xyanide for Xbox! :D I'm satisfied with that -- paying $13.96 for a new $20 game that will eventually be pretty rare.

They took your information down because you traded something in. We have to do it at GameCrazy everytime. Becuase we are under Pawn laws.

EDIT: oh and by the way, if you have an MVP card it comes to around $12.50 including tax and GameCrazy MUST match all trade in values. But if anyone comes and trys to do this at the Forest Park store I will kick you out.

I suppose that's as good a way to lose your job as any.

Just traded my copy in to get Summon Night for GBA. Thank you OP, this worked out very nicely for me since H2 is just sitting there gathering dust.

Traded Halo 2 for Starfox Command DS, and paid a little more, but damn, if that wasn't something i didn't mind getting off my hands, hahaha. props to the thread starter.

my bro and i each traded in our Halo 2s -- no 20% bonus, but a solid $20 each still wasn't bad. i wanted to see if any of my nearest GS stores had GC RE4 CE (too many letters there!), but alas all 3 were out. i guess it's pretty old by now. so, my credit sits and rots for something good to come along.

thanks OP!

oops. i forgot all about this game. now i gotta go back! thanks for reminding me. seriously.

Dumped my Halo 2, traded it for a Stubbs the Zombie and also picked up Dark Star One while I was at it. (A new space combat game? WTF?) Awesome deal.

Does anyone know if they still offer the $20 for it(it's still listed on their site offering $20)? I want to trade it in towards RE4(GC), but tried to call about it and got the "bring the game in" comment.

People have been abusing the 20 dollars trade in.

Now you get only 12 dollars for a disc by itself. You get 20 if you trade it in with the CD from the CE.

People have been abusing the 20 dollars trade in.

It has nothing to do with abuse, it was just a limited time value bump. Several games were part of this promotion. The new promotion cycled Halo 2 out in favor of a set of different games.
