[EB/GS] $39.99 Fate/Extra Limited Edition (comes with pre-order book)
I'm getting fed up with Amazon, so I'm going to abuse their system and hang onto it till my return arrives and then send back whichever is in worse condition. I'll just repeat that cycle till I get a decent copy, or they sellout. I do hope Amazon enjoys paying shipping each way for every copy I'll go through, just because they thought they'd save a few cents by switching over to padded mailers...
You are doing the RIGHT thing. I have done this a few times already this year, but I never used to have to do this. I could count on Amazon for delivering flawless collector's editions. These days.... I'm actually getting anxious knowing I'll have to deal with defective items everytime.

fuck padded envelopes.

Hah, it seems Amazon capped replacements on the Fate LE to one per person due to widespread problems  And they don't want me simply rebuying it:

"Since the problem with this item was widespread, I request you not to purchase this item from Amazon.ca now. However, I passed the information to the appropriate department, so that this problem will be fixed soon."

I don't expect them to fix anything... My next step would be Play-asia, because I can simply pay for boxed shipping, but they're soldout too now... Anybody have any more ideas?

Has Amazon Canada been using these mailing envelopes long?
I hadn't bought anything from Amazon Canada since last year, and just a week ago decided to get the limited edition Atelier Totori there.

Got it in the mail yesterday and the box was crushed -__-
Both top corners are bent, and the whole bottom of the box is bowed out.
I wanted to get the limited edition Fate/Extra as well, but after this experience, and reading all these replies, I won't be buying it from amazon.ca

Not too long I don't think. I got my first hit on them with my Persona 2 preorder, at which point I abandoned them and went back to EB.

My advice for Totori is to grab it from the NIS store. It's on sale at the moment:

Yes they charge a fortune for shipping, but they've undervalued the customs form on every package I've gotten from them. Meaning no tax, so it works out about even. Other than that, everything has been boxed shipping, exclusive freebies, good customer service, etcetera.

I'd say the amazon.ca move to padded envelopes dates to September. Catherine LE was the last boxed item I received from them.

Thanks for the tip :D
I hope amazon gets flooded with enough complaints that they switch back to cardboard. Used to be so happy to buy from them, knowing that the parcels were well protected...
