Like the OP says EB/GS is now selling Chronicles of Riddick so if you have it pre-ordered or just stop in and get a copy if your interested...

This is not YMMV because its comfirmed now in WI and IN

:twoguns:

Enjoy

Confirmed for San Diego, CA. Also got some bonus DLC for it as well: Developer Commentary for Escape From Butcher Bay and a multiplayer map for Pitch Black mode.

I got the game today in Pensacola, Fl at the Gamestop.. only thing that sucks is the extra multiplayer maps that you get with Gamestop don't go live till the 7th, so gotta wait a couiple days for those.

Movie based game that never sold well to begin with being re-released to average reviews without a movie or DVD tie-in.... I smell a quick price drop.

But it contains one of the best Xbox games, that couldn't be played on a 360 and its sequel.... I'm going to wait for a price drop, although I bet it will be a while.

I'll predict an Alone In The Dark type of price drop on this, will wait to pick it up for 15 in 3 months :)

It looked like and ok game, I noticed it yesterday at GS and thought it wasnt supposed to be out for a while. Ah, Ill wait for a drop, theres bound to be one

MSRP. and besides that i'll wait for a price drop as well. I enjoyed the demo but easily have 50+ games on my backlog

Toys R Us is selling it now as well. The game publishers gave the go ahead to sell it today, likely to all retailers.

Did they keep the Riddick mode I had heard about in? Where one person's Riddick and the other people just have guns and a flashlight?

I smell a bomb within this game.

I played and loved Butcher Bay, its graphics seemed better than Dark Athena's oddly enough. The gameplay seems fun, but the stealthing seems glitched. Whatever though, I hope it does well, an early unannounced release scares me a little though.

OXM gave it a high score, but the rest of the reviews have been mixed. This is actually a good strategy on their part. People who would have waited for more reviews, or not picked it up at all, will jump at the opportunity to be the "first" to get a game, or pick it up before they are suppose to.

The original for Xbox was one of my favorite xbox games. I've heard it's pretty much the same thing, so I'll at least rent it.

I feel with the medicore scores that will roll in (ign gave it a low one I believe) it will drop. Not Alone in the Dark fast but fast enough to wait it out

I started playing it last night and it's pretty damn good, I'm not sure why IGN gave it a mixed review and everyone else is pretty much praising it. The multiplayer is badass. I think Vins other game Wheelman will be dropping a lot sooner than this one.

It appears every GameStop had a release date of "3/31" for this game, which means that it shipped on the 31st and arrived in stores on 4/1. This is pretty normal procedure for most games.

I'm not sure why GameStop was the first to get it.

Don't count on it.

I played the original to death on the original xbox and after playing this one, I have to say that IGN's review is spot on. The original was great FOR ITS TIME. With this "fresh coat of paint" on the graphics and the thrown on Dark Athena, it definitely shows its age. Fun game but not worth $60. Its shame too because I love Starbreeze. After the Darkness, I was expecting great things from this "remake."

i was definitely surprised when mine arrived on thursday. i have put a few hours into the remake and a few hours into multiplayer. from what i can tell, the remake is still fun and still seems unique due to the significant amount of time you spend without a gun. the multiplayer seems like it can be broken down into 2 categories: "pitch black " mode and "everything else". the pitch black mode is unique and has been by far the most popular mode early on. it can be very tense when you are playing as a soldier and you keep catching glimpses of riddick but then he gets away...it's definitely the highlight of the multiplayer portion of the game. regarding "everything else", it all feels like standard quake/unreal fast paced multiplayer with tons of deaths and kills for everyone...not terrible, but not really a selling point either.

i haven't played the dark athena campaign yet, but from what i saw in the demo, i'm expecting a single player experience that relies too much on gun play and not enough on what riddick is all about...sneaking around in the dark and killing people one at a time.

I'm sure there were a few reasons for the early release date. One could possibly be a certain Vin Diesel movie that is playing in theaters now. So if someone wants a Vin fix, they can purchase this game.

I'm going to wait a for a few months on a deal for this game. I loved the original on the Xbox and I never got a chance to finish it. I'll get to this eventually.

Both Metacritic and Game Rankings list (the same) generally good reviews. Mixed reviews?
Anyways, the nature of opinions is that not everyone is going to have the same. Everything over 50 is going to have someone liking it and is fine.[/quote]

Well thats weird when I was reading the review on IGN it seemed like he really wasnt feeling the game. I mean if I remember right he said he would rather go boot up the xbox and play that game.

Anyway still thinking it will drop or at least be a decent sale soon

Game Crazy broke street since EB/GS did, that's 100% confirmed I was just at work and there's a company wide email about it

Thats kind of funny because does it matter when you sell it as long as it sells? And its not like EB/GS have an infinite number of copies so eventually if it goes on a selling spree people will go where its in stock...

It's not breaking street if our company gives us the OK to sell it..

Anyway, yeah, GameCrazy's selling it as well. Picked it up today, it's great.

I dont think you can go wrong picking this up....at the right price.

The game was awesome on the XBOX and an enhanced version + part 2 is gravy.

That said, we are still talking about a remake of an old game. I would say that 39.99 would've been a better starting price.

I will problably pick it up used when it hits 29.99 or less....or maybe new if it drops that fast.

I was happy to pay $60 for Dark Athena. Redone classic xbox game plus a full on second game with it is worth the money for me. Multiplayer is so-so :bouncy:
