EB Online is now shipping for FREE

OMG amazon style. That's pretty cool if it works. Now if they could only get ALL of the preorders & exclusives that .com gets.

Hrmm...I hope I don't get stuck with gutted copies (means no manuals right?) which also have a sticker on the disc and cracked box. That would make me sad...

That's what still keeps me from ordering from EB Games, I don't know what condition the games are in (gutted, etc).

Sometimes I wonder, besides the possibility of trade ins, why would anyone buy from EB? They always seem to have the highest prices for games.

Edge credit. I am sitting on a ton. Getting rid of it is sometimes useful. However I think the website still charges tax on edge credit. So I'll pass till that is fixed.

Wait (sorry I'm a little out of the loop here), you can use edge credit to buy things off their new site? Count me in.

Considering this is an ONLINE store, which means they have no reason to put out boxes for potential customers to fuck around with, they have no reason to gut "New" games. However, this is EB so I won't be surprised if gutted games are still the case.

The thing is, having worked for EB I know how that company LOVES to move stock around, every week they get a stock balance list and shit (about 10-30 games, depending on the week) and it gets moved around to head office and/or another store. Callbacks on overstock also includes gutted games too.

There's always a danger.

Thanks Gamer602 for posting this. Glad they have a free shipping option and I hope it stays permanent.

So lets say I order a used game from their site and it comes to me in a damaged case, with no manual, the disc is in poor (yet working) condition, etcetera... am I allowed to return it to my local EB/GS for a money back refund with the excuse: "I don't like the condition of the game, even though it works"?

And if I wanted, would they let me exchange it for a better copy if they had one in stock?

Or would I have to ship it back and get refunded through the site?

Also, I didn't know EDGE Cards were still charged tax online. That almost guarantees I won't be shopping there, unless they change that policy, as I have a bit of credit built up.

Lastly, does anyone know if I buy (pre-order) a Gaming Guarantee game online, would I be allowed to return it to a store (within 7 days) for a refund of the purchase price on an EDGE card?

Thanks in advance anyone who tackles these questions!

^ You're asking the right questions at the wrong place. Like I said, someone needs to call them on behalf of CAG. ;)
^ You're asking the right questions at the wrong place. Like I said, someone needs to call them on behalf of CAG. ;)
Okay, so I emailed them and the response I got was that you can NOT exchange or return it if you are unsatisfied with the condition of the game (unless it is still unopened, which is unlikely because you'll need to open it to check the condition of the manual and game disc)!

Unless the disc is defective, you won't be able to return it. And even then, you have to exchange it for the same game if they have it in stock (and it will just be the disc exchanged, so they don't have to give you the proper case, cover art, and/or manual if they have it. So if you get a game with no manual (or damaged manual), scratched disc (but still working), non-original case, and/or no cover art... you're stuck with it, unless you don't open it.

Shipping/Handling fees are NON-refundable.

You can return the unopened or defective game (within 30 days of the date on the packing list) to ANY EB or GS store (WITH the original packing list), or you can ship it back at your own expense.

If you send back a game and they decide it doesn't qualify for a refund, they will NOT ship back the game to you OR refund your money!

That all being said, if you run into a rare nice EB employee or Manager, they are of course allowed to use their own discretion, and might do the exchange for you.

As for the other questions about the EDGE card not being tax-free... they said they forwarded it on and will get back to me with the answer as to why.

I also emailed them about the edge tax thing. At first they had no idea what I was talking about, but after explaining it in great detail, they said they would get back to me. Not holding my breath.

That refund policy is the exact same as it is in store. If your game is defective, you get another copy as an exchange. So if you are "unsatisfied" with the condition, all you have to do is say it is defective, not that you dont like the disc.

Yes, the free shipping right now is awesome. My 360 crapped out on me, so I bought a used core. It came to just over $112.00 with tax and free shipping included. The only possible argument I could see is that it takes 1 day to process the order and 10 days to ship, but that doesn't bother me.

Also, If you are wondering who I am, I'm new here. I have always been a CAG, but I just recently found out about the site. I have also been listening to the CAGcast religiously since I found out about the site. I hope to stay here and help others find some great deals.
Cheers

Yes but in-store, you can see what you're getting. If a clerk grabs Kingdom Hearts for me, and it's just the disc with no manual and a generic case, I can refuse to purchase it. Online, you have no idea what you're getting, and won't know until it shows up at your door.

I understand what you mean, but I HATE the employees at my local EB Games and Gamestop (I live near 1 of each, both in the same mall actually lol). They all have no idea what they are doing, so there is part of me that would rather just order online and not have to argue with them.

Yeah I can see that. I'm pretty lucky in that both the EB's near me have really great staff so I don't mind going in there at all. Of course, I never buy used games anymore because of Goozex, but still, they're great with my pre-orders heh.
