My games came today :D it was a great snag off ebay

mentioned it in an earlier post as the best deal ever. I got Spider-Man 2, 007:EoN, Dynasty Warriors 4, Smack Down: HCTP, Def Jam Vendetta, Timesplitters 2, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for $55!
So you're trying to double what you paid and keep 2 games out of the deal??
Good luck.....
No, if you check the craigslist ad, you can also buy MvC2 for $60. That's called tripling, baby!

I was basing my figures on the great CAG discount deals he offered.
Don't forget, he won't ship until he receives payment.

Shouldn't be to hard to sell some of these games. Maybe no one here will buy after my post, I kind of expected to happen but most people will jump at the chance of getting new games like Spiderman 2 for $25.

Last time I check it was alright to sell for profit. I mean there's nothing wrong with reselling it to make some profit; people here do it with trading in cheap games they got through sales.

The MvsC 2 I priced at $60 because I really wanted to keep it but I know that there may be some people who are willing to shell over that much.

There's nothing wrong with making a couple bucks, but trying to gouge people after posting what you originally paid isn't going to sit well with most folks here.
You can get Spidey 2 brand spankin new at most retailers for $30.

Oh, and I asked for payment first because of the vibe that I'm getting from everyone here. I said I got it for $55 so people are jealous and someone might try to rip me off, thinking hey this guy only paid this much I'll just ask for the game and not pay. People who have been here for a long time might not do this but how about other newbies?

I didn't know that about Spidey 2. I just saw that EB was selling it for $35 and I thought $30 was good, I'll probably lower it to $25 on craigslist. Thanks johnnyoski.

I kind of figured that no one here would be interested - I stated that in my first post. But I didn't expect such nasty feedback.

That's what I was thinking, or even Blockbuster for $9.99 (used, after trades).

what vibe? Maybe it's the way written messages can be read differently and it'll have different meaning for different people but I felt like the people were attacking me personally, making me look like a cheat or a liar. And you guys don't even know me, everyone that knows me would say I'm the most honest person they know.

johnnyoski - I don't have a problem with you, I like how you corrected me on the prices. I came up with the prices based on EB and Gamestop prices. I've lowered the prices on some of my games already.

C'mon, so am I suppose to charge 9.99 for Spidey 2. Even on Ebay the game sells somewhere in the $20's right? Most people don't have the games to trade that's why EB can sell used games for $30, so why shouldn't I.

Let's see...you have no CAG feedback and you just signed up two weeks ago, yet you demand that people trust you and send payment first. I suggest you read this topic:

I don't mind that you want to make a huge profit - that's capitalism, and if people don't want to buy from you, they don't have to. What I do dislike is you not adhering to the accepted practices on this trading board. If someone has made 20 successful trades with other CAG members, they have earned the right to demand that a newbie with no trades sends first. You haven't earned that right. General rule of thumb - less feedback means you send first.

Review of this topic will give you feedback on potential traders:

I concur. If you're going to come into someone else's house, you play by their rules. You can't honestly expect someone with 10 or more positives on this site to ship to you first just because you proclaim to be "the most honest person ever".

I say keep your prices at what you think is reasonable. The market will take care of itself.

Last two posts are fair. I saw that thread that you guys referred to and read it. I thought I'd just post up prices on the board anyway, but now I get it and I'll just stick to eBay or craigslist where I do trades/sells locally. I'm going to edit my first post. Sorry if I broke the rules of the trading board, personally I'm not yet comfortable enough to blindly believe in someone's feedback from a board without some kind of safety net.

What pissed me off was that people responded with sarcasm and made me sound like I was a liar. I think like this and strongly believe in the phrase "My word is my bond" and when people started to mock me it was hurtful. If I didn't defend myself I'm sure this whole thread would have been people talking s#^! about me.

And you don't think people with good feedback on this site are pissed that someone who's new comes here doing a trade demanding that they receive payment first before shipping the item?

Ebay and safety net doesn't go together. I've never traded on ebay and don't plan on it anytime soon either. Too many horrible stories about it. Anyways goodluck with your trades at other places.

Your argument doesn't make sense. You say you want people to take you at your word, yet you're not willing to do the same for others. You say it makes you angry that people don't trust you, yet here you are thinking CAG members are going to rip you off even if there is documentation (i.e. feedback) that proves otherwise. I don't think you're a liar or cheat, just a hypocrite.

You are hurt because of smartass comments questioning the validity of your 'deal'? Yet you think people here are jealous little bastards who want to steal your games? I guess Im just concurring with anonymouswhoami, so whatever.

Just remember your own observation:
"you guys don't even know me,"

I think that eBay is safer than dealing on a board at least based on their policies. They say that a buyer is protected up to $200, there's also documentation/feedback. Even if someone has 10 feedbacks I'm not sure I would trust them, everyone has their own comfort levels. I'm just thinking how easily someone can set up an account on the boards or even multiple accounts. Or if someone does something bad on one board, they can just start trading at another board.

Now I wrote that people here are "jealous little bastards". Don't put words in my mouth. Jealous wasn't the right word. I wanted to describe the feeling that someone might get when they saw the price that I paid for the games and then they saw the prices I wanted to sell at. Smartass comments I'm okay with, I was about to post a reply to your I'll take two of each, with I'll be waiting by my mailbox for your payment to arrive. But then I saw that people were making a big deal on my requiring payment first.

I didn't expect such a strong reaction to a newbie requiring payment first. Okay that's all; I've said everything I wanted to say and I also see what I did wrong.

Maybe I was a little harsh in my last post, but it boils down to this:
If you want to sell games and make profit don't do it in the manner you did.
Hey everyone look at this great deal I got on these games, I only paid x for them. If you want them I'll sell them to you for 3x since I'm such a nice guy.
You will find that most members here on CAG are not here to make big profits off each other. There are some exceptions, but for the most part this is a tight knit community that looks to help each other out if someone was unable to get in on a deal.
