Ebay problem do I send full refund?

Someone on ebay got a game from me and says it keeps freezing. What should I do? Send a refund on what he paid for the item only, what he originally paid for shipping too, or refund both of those and the shipping charge for him to send it back?

On something as cheap as a game, I would simply refund the full purchase price, including shipping. Of course, only AFTER he sends the game back to you.

First, if there were no scratches on the disc, it is probably not the disc and probably the system. Also many games have freezing problems on their own. (Fallout New Vegas)

I would say the honorable thing is to refund everything.

It depends on what you want your e-bay rating to look like. If you want to keep your rating high, refund everything no question. If your not to worried about your rating, try and parter somewhere inbetween, and if you really don't care, tell him to fuck off.:bouncy:

If you feel you listed the item accurately and appropriately, I would just tell them that you don't currently offer refunds, but that they can file a claim. eBay should side with both of you and refund the buyer out of their (eBay's) own money. You keep your money, they get their money back, and sometimes the game.

speaking as someone who has had problems with shady sellers on ebay before i'll tell you right now that i have won every single ebay claim i've filed. However in my case, all the sellers were shady as fuck. I.e. selling a like new game cartridge that was sticky and scratched to hell, or selling a like new game that was resurfaced piss poorly and looks like a bad car wax job. So Ebay seems to pretty much always side with the buyer as long as there's proof. (in my case pictures)

If you sold the guy a crap item, id offer the full refund + return shipping when he ships it back. Or if its really cheap maybe just refund him outright. Ebay's policy is that the buyer does have to pay return shipping, but you are responsible for refunding the complete purchase price (including original shipping cost). But that said, if the game really is a lemon then you should probably front the shipping return cost, or else youd probably get a neutral to negative rating.

Now, if you know the game was in good condition and just as described, and you thorougly tested it (i test all game i get for 30-60 minutes) then you can simply tell him that the game was tested and the problem must lay with his system. However if hes dishonest and files a claim, theres a chance ebay will side with him and force a refund.

I decided to offer refund of price and original shipping once he ships it back. He said it froze in his ps1 and ps3, but the disc looks fine. I think the disc had some scratches, but I can't remember exact condition. I don't remember if I tested it. This particular game has been nothing but bad luck. First the original buyer backed out, then the guy I offered 2nd chance to claimed he bid on it for shits and giggles, now this. Thank you for your help guys.
