If someone is new to trading here (CAG) would you trust them if they had 100% long standing feedback on ebay?

The reason I ask is I was trying to trade with someone, and they said they wanted me to ship my item first, once they received it they would send theirs.

They also said, ebay feedback has no meaning here. Granted I haven't traded here, but my ebay feedback goes to character. Not to mention, I have 100% positive with over 100 feedbacks. He had over 600 feedbacks, but he also had some negatives that brought him down to 98.5%.

I think Trust is a 2 way street. Why should I have to wait twice as long to receive my package?

I have already worked out two separate trades (other than the one I am talking about) that will be going out tomorrow. Both parties have agreed to send out our items at the same time.

Anyway, just wanted your opinions on the subject.

Am I not getting it or what?

The problem with ebay feedback is that we can't put a mark against it if you don't send your item or the item arrives in worse condition than it was described. We can put a negative on you on this site but if you just poped in to scam a few people you wouldn't really care about that now would you?

Also this goes into the whole cloudspekk thing that I wasn't around for. But basically he had really nice ebay feedback sold a bunch of items, never sent anything and pocketed everyone's money. I think a few older traders could explain it a bit better but that is the basic problem with ebay feedback.

I agree. It's a personal preference thing. The first thing I'd do is contact him through ebay and make sure its his ebay account. I've seen people send first and get scammed, then contact the ebay name and it wasn't even the guys account.

And yeah, the Spekk had like 140 with 100% ebay feedback.

I know how you feel man. It's just that there have been some bad experiences, like zion said. If you don't mind the wait then I would say you've got nothing to worry about. Rest assured that if whoever you're trading with has any sort of credibility built up here, you'll receive your package and receive it fast.

It's just the price that comes with being new. Once you get feedback for those two trades, that in conjunction with your eBay feedback should be plenty to get things shipped same time. :)

Yes I for one have no problem sending at the same time or even first if they can't get to the post office soon to anyone with 5 feedback and up.

Tons of people that started out have had to sent their items first. If you don't like the arrangement, you can always walk away from the deal.
