did they rework this function?

I set up a auction with a .99 start bid but a buy it now option for 320.00

I didn't see the "buy it now" button on there and when i emailed ebay they said that once the first bidder decides to bid that they remove the "buy it now" option...this was never the case before. this if fucked up

i have a bidder who wants to buy it now. what should i do?

I would just End the auction and Relist with just the Buy it Now so the bidder can buy it. Or you can just end the auction and not even deal with Ebay if the person wants to buy it like that.

BUY IT NOW always was removed after someone placed a BID unless you had a reserve price.

so if you didnt have a reserve price the BIN would disappear after the first bid.

List it again and put the BIN price on it and just end the first sale with no sale

This has been the case for me for the last six months or so. If you want the buy-it-now to stay longer, you will have to add a reserve and the BIN will stay up until the reserve is met. Of course you will be automatically charged the reserve price as well for the listing fee. I don't use buy it now anymore unless my starting price is the same because they will charge me the reserve price to correctly use it anyways. :bomb:

If you are going to start an auction at 99 cents and use a BIN without a reserve, you will most always lose the BIN because someone will lowball a bid like 99 cents and make your BIN go away. They know damn well they wont win at 99 cents but they bid that anyways. Dont ever do BIN this way as you are wasting your fee for it.

^^^What he said^^^

Cancel the bid and end the auction. He probably only bid a dollar anyways. I dont understand why people bid with no intention on ever trying to actually win.

OCD, a troll purposely trying to mess with the auction, or honestly (and very stupidly) thinking that everyone else might ignore the auction and they'll get something for insanely cheap.

You could just end auction and sell to whoever wants it. Just message him and tell him to bid. Deal out whatever adn when you end auction send him invoice with correct amount.
