I purchased a new Madden 2003 from EBGames.com and just received it. It was shrinkwrapped, but there was no Xbox security label on the side, suggesting that it had been opened and reshrinkwrapped. To make matters worse, I opened the case to find NO CD! Wasn't there a recent court case that involved EBGames and the selling of opened/returned merchandise as new?

I guess but apparently that hasn't stopped them from still doing it anyway. Topic doesn't really belong here I think, by the way.

That's why I only buy PC games or pre-order from EB or Gamestop.

I had that same thing happen at a B&M. Just give 'em a call...hopefully they'll send you one.

I had that happen to me once at a Target B&M... Powerstone 2, case with no disc.

They replaced it, no questions asked. The girl made it sound like it happens all the time.

I'd go wild on their candy asses.

Anyway I try to only buy used from them cause at least I know I am buying something that was opened for sure instead of something that was opened when it was supposed to be closed.

And yes this is the wrong board for all of this.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago when Beyond Good and Evil took the price drop. I bought it new for Xbox, walked out of the store and pulled it out of the bag. I noticed that the security seal was missing, opened it up to find the instructions and disc were missing. I walked back into the store to tell them what happened.

They replaced it immediately, but they made it sound like I took both of them out of the case and when back to try to get another one. What a bunch of A-holes. That's why I go to Gamestop now.

Many years back I bought a new copy of Blue Stinger for DC at Target B&M. Got it home, opened it up...and all that was inside was a scratched up PSX demo disk. I drove back over there and they tried to make it sound like I was trying to pull some scam...dumb fucks.

Ever notice when they accept a game? They don't even look at the disc, they just pop the game open/shut to make sure SOMETHING is there. Yea, I've had the wrong disc a few times.

EB is such aholes, but at least I keep milkin' 'em for free shirts, etc.

i think it's new but their new policy is to gut most of the new games and then when you buy it they'll put the guts inside, the guy said it's because too many people were stealing the stuff inside (for like free offers [i.e. xbox live subscriptions] but mostly cause people were stealing CD keys for PC games)

Something similar happened to me at EB when I bought my Xbox, Halo, SC, and Morrowind (right after SC first came out). I took the cases to the counter (I don't know why I do that, I usually just ask for the game) and when I got in my car I went to open everything up to check it all out (I was excited, lol) and realized the guy gave me the display case for SC. So I just went back in there and the guy gave it to me (was about 20 mintues later, didn't even ask to see my recipt and it was a diffrent guy too).

My eb's is totally anal about excepting used games, they'll stare at the back of the cd for whole minutes before deciding if the if good enopugh for them. On top of that they tried telling my cousin that they don't do returns anymore, not that exchange crap like before, but a typical return!

that sucks. i hate the shit about "This game may or may not include case and instructions." i wish they would just mix and match the game with cases and manuals until one of the two ran out, so at least you would know what you were getting.

I don't like EBgames as much as I used to. They never have any great deals like GameStop has (In my area they have 20% off or 2 for 1 every other month or so). There warranty on systems also blows, It's 2 weeks of warranty at EBgames, its 90 Days at GameStop. Gamestop usually have there games cheaper online and at the store than at my local EB. Plus I like the fact there less traffic at the my local GameStop since it's in the boonies so I don't have to deal with 12 year old bum rushing (More like hitting a brick wall) me for there damn Yougioh(typo) games. There Online store isn't bad, I haven't had any problems when odering used/new games from EBgames.

Thats why you buy everything with AmEx...they add a year to a warranty. Better yet, up to 1,000 annually or 300 per occurance they will take back a product and refund your money (up to those limits).

This is why I make them show it to me before I walk out of the store.

I got that Sega GT 2002 from Ebgames the other day. The web site said new but my copy is clearly used. Not damaged, but used none the less. I think the only this that fits here is:

fuck those fuckin fucks.

What the hell is AmEx? American Express? I don't use credit cards to buy things. I'm not a fan of credit cards ( I only have one Master Card for an emergency), I usually stick with cash or my Visa Debit Card from my bank.

This just happened to me today. Bought a copy of Tribes: Aerial Assault, got home, opened it and no disc. This was understandable because I got it about 20 min before the store closed and I bet they were tired. Also I got like all used games so it took 'em awhile to get the discs and since I added that one in there right before he made the purchase final, he probably forgot about it. I called 10 min after their close time and luckily the guy was still there. He got the disc out, put a note on it, and just told me to come back tommorow and pick it up.

When buying online it is BEST to use a credit card so if a problem occurs you have a means of getting your money back through a chargeback dispute.
Where as with a debit card you're basically screwed if a problem occurs.
