ebgames/gamestop trade in rule

today i went down to ebgames to trade in a game towards a new xbox headset, sat on mine so i need a new one lol. but when i got there the pimply faced virgin told me that game credit can only be spent on games an that i would have to pay cash for the headset. is this an actual rule or are they just pulling my leg?

i checked the gamestop website and it says trade in your games for the lates gear and new releases

i live in winnipeg manitoba, dont know if that makes a difference

it might make a difference since you are in canada, but I highly doubt it. I'd ask to speak to a store manager or shift leader. That "rule" doesn't make much sense

the girl i was speaking to was in charge of that store. they also dont let you put trade in credit on gift cards, you have to spend it before you leave the store. but i think that is a law in manitoba. otherwise i would just put it on a card and come back later haha
