How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 7:30am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?
Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.

Argh... my order is on hold again, and they added $6 shipping on. I mean, I even added a $20 used game, not a crap 99 cent game for free shipping. Guess I'll get on the phone with them rather than wait a day to cancel it this time.

Sometimes their CS is on the ball, sometimes not. FYI, whenever they go in to make changes to your order, shipping gets added automatically. And since it's already packaged, they can't change anything. So I will have to call and get the shipping (and hopefully the 43 cents in additional tax) refunded once it ships.
 
Yes! I called up EBGames and found out that a store not too far from me has a new copy of Phoenix Wright in. Sure, it'll probably be a gut copy, but dammit, I want it.


Can anyone tell me their personal experiances with the game and if its worth dropping thirty bones on? I usually dont pay that much for a handheld game, but theres no real other option here (other than to wake up early for the morning update, happily add it in my cart only to get it stolen at the last moment).

I didn't pay full price for it (got it used), but after playing it, I probably would have. The only issue with paying $30 is that it's a one-shot deal; unless you pick it up again a year later and have forgotten what you did, it's not high on the replayability scale. That being said, it's the best game I've played since... I don't know when. It consumed me for about a week.

Isn't the "hold" just checking with your credit card company? I never had them add shipping for that, must be for adding to the order.

Whenever it's actually "on hold" status, it's never been good for me. It happened two days ago, and eventually they told me there were problems with my credit card.

I saw it in stock for awhile during the summer. It was $26.99 BC at the time.

I haven't had that happen but did have an order stay on "hold" for a week and then finally get shipped priority.
 
Well I got my order today Breath of Fire III and IV both complete in good conditon so I'm pretty happy Metal Slug X included the manual I figure I can print the back cover Castlevania Symphony of the Night was disc only but the disc is in really good condition greatest hits not sure but I may return it. Does anyone know what time the post updates PST I wake up at 5:50 but I always forget to check till about 7:00am PST not sure when to check.

I picked up Castlevania: DoS, Sonic Rush, and Viewtiful Joe (all DS used) for under $65 shipped. This is actually a great deal since the games are guaranteed to be complete. If bought new they would run $95 + tax! I was going to get these at BB after coupon but mine didn't have any of them so this was the next best thing :)
 
Keep your eyes open for the next week or two... Yesterday had an incredible amount of stuff come in at once, its usually a sign that stores might be sending stuff back. Usually a lot of stuff comes in when that happens.
 
IMHO, the best deal of yesterdays morning update was Breath of Fire 2 (GBA) for $19.99 b/c and I don't care if its cart only, as I have a complete copy, but the game doesn't work. Now with that said, watch this copy come complete too. :rofl: The only GBA I don't care if its complete or not.

Oh and to me its a deal, because a fellow CAG wanted $28 shipped for cart only.

Yeah, thats what I thought. If I am going to pay an absurd amount for a cart/disc only game, its going to be Suikoden 2 or Valkyrie Profile, but those 2 are about it.

So it got a decent deal, and even better if it comes complete, as another CAG can complete their copy, depending on the shape of the box.

Did you buy it used? It won't be complete, unless somebody forgot to throw the box away. Its happened before but not much.

Yeah I bought it used, theres always tha .000000000000001 chance it might come complete, highly doubted.

I bought a copy off of ebay a few years ago, and just got around to beating BOF1 and wanted to play it, so I pop the cart in and go to start a new game. Get to the setup audio/visual screen and it locks up, each and every time.

Updates used to happen at 7:00 am EST (4:00 am PST). But lately they have been 7:30 EST (4:30 PST).

Have you tried cleaning it with some alcohol and a q-tip?

Thats still the greatest sale to ever be posted on this website, as so many of those games ended up be hard to find and were so cheap then. Too bad I missed damn near every single one of them.

Nope, not yet. Thats about the only thing I didn't try.

I figure worst case, I can trade it back to a CAG if I end up getting this copy working or take it and get something else locally for the same price.

My friend gave me his BoF 2 GBA for free. I don't think he even got around to playing it. It was all mint and complete. Even better was that he had the receipt for the game too. Hooray for the $5 PriceGrabber rebates!

:lol: Yeah, I agree with you there. I probably made out better than anyone on that deal...then again, that's what driving to 6 CCs will do. :lol: My best pick-ups from that sale were: BoF 2 (x2) Tactics Ogre (x2) Disgaea (x2) Doom 2.
