FAQ:
How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

The bottle looks like this:

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 8am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.t

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?
Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.

How do I find links to games that are currently out of stock?
Use the following Google link and replace "gameyouwantgoeshere" with the name of the game you are searching for. [thanks radjago]
Picked up Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories with a Reservation Rewards coupon... we'll see if I can sneak that one by them.
What are Reservation Rewards?
I got my Tekken 5 bundle yesterday and both the game and DVD case were still sealed! The arcade stick was in great shape as well. The box was a little banged up, but I can live with that! :)
how much is tekken 5 bundle before coupon?

Everytime you purchase, the confirmation page gives you a link to Reservation Rewards, Shopping Discounts, etc (all the same company); just discount programs you can sign up for, free for 30 days, and receive a $10 coupon after 6 days. EB is moronic with their use of them; that is, you're only allowed one per household, but they present the link to you after every purchase. I used probably 4 or 5 over the summer before they finally cancelled orders I placed with them, hence I'm not going to be surprised if they cancel this one as well.

My Sonic Advance 3 arrived dead. How often does this happen with GBA games? I think for now on I'll buy games new unless you can't find them anymore or they are dirt cheap. Trying to save 6 bucks over a new copy ain't worth this hassle.

Yeah, I've not been having very good luck with GBA games. Sadly the older/out of print ones are near impossible to find new and reasonably priced.

If you string out the Res Rewards (sign up only once per month with a cancel after 3 weeks) and use the gift codes only once per week . . . you might make it last longer.

I did at least 12 of them before I was blackballed. :)

So, how did you cancel your enrollment in the program since it says you transfer your credit card info to them when you try to get the 10 dollar coupon.

When you log in to your program there's a link to cancel, it's pretty easy. Just cancel after you receive the coupon but before 30 days is up.
It's a sad day when you can order one of everything on the Dreamcast page for under $60.00 A/C...
Ugh... you can do the same for NES and SNES for $75 and $35 respectively.

I actually was "blackballed" last year, then, magically I was shown the reservation rewards link again recently. So i imediately abused it and fired off two in one day (order, register, order, cancel, register, order, cancel) in under an hour. Now i don't see the link again.

Anyway I got the DS games I wanted so it all worked out.

wasn't there a thread regarding people being scammed somehow through the res. rewards thingy? I was thinking of trying it but don't want my ATM or CC getting reamed.

Resident Evil: Dead Aim - Pre-Played 19.99 b/c 1 left
I wish that was a little bitn cheaper before code. I still can't believe I passed that and Dino Stalker up at GameCrazy.
You're right. I misread your post. I'm sorry.
Had I worded it better, there would've been no question. I too am at fault for it. I hate hoarders, so thats why I was a bit defensive when you mentioned it.

Other than not cancelling within the first month and then getting charged for the next month, I don't know of any issues people have had.

as I understand it, the problems people were having with res. rewards went on a while ago before they introduced their clean canceling system over the phone or the website. I've used a LOT of res. rewards coupons without any real problems, mainly I think the only big issue now is people forgetting to cancel in time, but since you can now get your ebgames code within minutes of signing up and then immediately cancel over their website I think that should mostly be resolved. Though enough people must obviously forget to cancel in time for them to make a profit.

It's telling me that I have to email my next EBGames confirmation email and they'll send me a check in the mail. Is that what everyone else is getting? It doesn't sound like it since someone was saying EBGames was cancelling orders made with Reservation Rewards.

I'm going through the process right now. The $10 is a mail-in rebate type of deal?

Nope, it's a coupon code for EBGames.com
Nope, it's a coupon code for EBGames.com
I think it's changed. I am only getting some printable coupon with instructions of sending reservation rewards my ebgames receipt in order for them to mail me a $ 10 check.
Nope, it's a coupon code for EBGames.com
So where do I find this coupon code then? These are the instructions I was given.

Wow, that's crazy. I just joined last week, got my coupon code a few days ago. I guess they changed it since then. That's actually better though, they're probably less likely to catch repeat users than EB was.

I got my Crisis Zone bundle in the mail today, just thought I'd share it came pretty much brand new just like the Time Crisis 3 and Ninja Assault bundles I got in the past. Game was sealed and guncon still in baggies with twist ties, so pretty much they just opened the outer box and put some stickers on the it.
Is the time crisis bund;le the one with two guncons 2. If so I might order it.
I'm pretty sure it comes with only one guncon 2 (I haven't received mine so I can't say definitively). But for 13.50 a/c its a steal, honest.

My Gunstar Super Heroes order was cancelled, and this was the third order in a row that has met that fate. I'm worried that I may have been blackballed as well, though I haven't used a Reservation Rewards coupon since midsummer. How long were you blacklisted for?

Next time your order goes on hold, I would call them, prior to it being cancelled. I think a few of my orders were cancelled like that shortly after using all those codes, but they eventually stopped after I hounded them about it.

2 more morning updates for me, then its bye bye for a few months atleast. Nothing like going into work at 7. I guess it won't be so bad when we go to central time in the spring, then I might hit an update or 2.

Edit: Who has been/is in charge of running the game? And is it up right now?

Look at the bright side...think of the money you'll save! Good Luck!

Yeah, but I start out by losing $8 a week. Thats like 2 days worth of (eating out) lunch.

I have internet access at work, but all the head honchos are there, so it'd be nearly impossible to do this. However, there may be a day where I attempt it.

Yeah, I go to work at 6 (central) so I can still hit the update. Of course, no-one is on my level until 7-8, so its pretty easy to get away with.

last time there was a chat the update was after 7:30.....i don't think the EB update guy who watches this thread likes the chat. feel the wrath of the EB update guy!
