FAQ:
How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

The bottle looks like this:

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 8am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.t

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?
Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.

How do I find links to games that are currently out of stock?
Use the following Google link and replace "gameyouwantgoeshere" with the name of the game you are searching for. [thanks radjago]
*whew* I'm glad someone got MK: DD w/ bonus as well. I was feeling bad for grabbing it from people's carts! ;) Mine shipped this afternoon! Sweet action! :)
As well you should. I'd been trying to get that sucker for many-a-day now. ;)

It was luck, pure and simple, that I happened to take a second look at the right time. The re-update was a blessing.

Although mine is still listed as "Open"... Hope this isn't a bad sign. :(

I ordered the Zelda Ocarina of Time & Master Quest disc like 2 weeks ago now and it still hasn't shipped. I hope your MK: DD order doesn't fall prey to the same misfortune :(
Time Crissi 3 Bundle

I'm talking about this one. It's $30 so I don't know which oen you're talking about that's $13Ac. But I'bve seen the Time Crisis 3 Bundle in CC and that comes with two Guncons for $55. SO I was wondering if this was that bundle and if it came with the guncons.

For around $24 it wouldn't be bad to get the game and two guncons.
Oh, well i was talking about Time Crisis: Crisis Zone
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/243669.asp?siteID=FKSJxY2VJAk-dAqw22q3NdKnexXAJD/vDg

But I did just receive the Time Crisis 3 today and it comes with only one guncon.
FYI: Fairly reliable word from someone at EB is saying that the site's been weird because they're beginning some of the backend integration there....the updates might be going soon.
Ah fck I finally bought a EDGE card today and I get this news.
Ah fck I finally bought a EDGE card today and I get this news.
i bought one last week! well at least i got my 5 dollars back already from the games i bought.....i hope they still have a couple updates

EB's are still actively pushing Edge cards in-store, which leads me to believe that they'll still be good somehow arather.
Based on the fact that EB and GS will apparently be using a new POS, I wouldn't be surprised if they use a totally different online system as well, not one or the other. That being said, how does GameStop.com update stock online if not at some scheduled point in time?
I think Gamestop's are just taking the EB's POS, I don't think they're getting a new one altogether. No idea how Gamestop updates, I'd say probably it updates at certain points like EB does, but it would be obivously much harder to pin down times and games that update.

Man I guess itll be a long time before Ebgames gets some more used dreamcast games. By then i guess it will merge and the 15 for 50$ deal will be gone.

I received my Time Crisis 3 with gun today (and Champions of Norrath Return to Arms by the way). Both came in great condition and I'm very pleased. The Time Crisis 3 had NO stickers on it, the disc was in great condition and the guncon was superb. Overall I'm very happy.

Unfortunately they charged me shipping even though I had used the SAVER shipping code. I called and it took like 20 seconds to fix so I guess it isn't too big of a deal. My question is though, does this happen a lot? Do they often charge shipping?

In my rounds of different stores, I try to ask everyone about it. I had one clerk tell me that they are keeping BOTH cards.

This was the way he explained it:
The EB card will be $5, and will give you 10% off used purchases.
The GS card will be $15, and will give you 10% off used purchases, 10% additional on trade-ins, and the Game Informer subscription.

Not sure how reliable this is though, as only one store out of ~10 that I asked said this.
mourning,I hope the mourning update guy have good night sleep and start the update early today.
amen to that

There aren't any updates to the Dreamcast, SNES, or NES sections because EB stopped stocking all of those types of games. At least in store they did, I would assume it's the same online as well. And as of when I was let go from EB due to store closing at the end of Jan, the plan was to move all the stores to the EB POS with the GS inventory system and a few other tweaks to it.

Eh, I've been enjoying the late updates. I'm just about to leave for work so if he wants to hold off at least another 30-45 minutes that would be fine with me.

Me too...I have a meeting in a half hour.
can you just join an AIM chat or do you need an invite? I'm daroga28 :)
You can join on your own.

Hopefully the trend will continue and I can get to work and have my computer booted up in the next half hour and make the update.

No the trend needs to die here. Some of us have to drive to campus to take an exam in 20 minutes. I won't mention any names of course.

And of course today will be the day that EB finds 50 copies of Phoenix Wright laying around and of course the update will happen just as I get into my car. It's only fitting.

If this is true, hopefully they'll have a .99 fire sale or b1g2 free...Hey, I can dream!

Not true... When stores stop carrying an item, it gets sent back to corporate, where its sold through the website. Besides, we're not too sure if the website will stop carrying those genres, space is at a bigger premium in store than it is in their warehouses. Its still profitable, and trade-ins were never their only source of these games.

No stores sent their stock back to corporate, they said not to do that and to just sell it out in store. The online stock for SNES, DC, and NES isn't updating so I'm just assuming the same thing happened there.

And it looks like this has already happened. We've seen surges in the stocks of these games in the past year . . . they may be winding down now. Certainly looks like the SNES era is ending on EB.com.

Maybe there'll be a few more surges as a few stores send in final stock????

I read somewhere... business magazine or something... that compaines will contact EB to unload inventory they no longer want - 10,000 used PS1 games... 500 used SNES game pads... the numbers were huge.

There was such a surge not too long ago... I picked up Power Stone 2 but I left a lot of other great stuff on the table.

Speaking of Surge, has anyone tried this new Vault drink? It tastes just like Surge.

I also think that some stores might donate to Goodwill . . . once, last summer, I saw a GB color at Goodwill but as I looked, there were actually 3 of them at once (got one for $3). At a local GW I noticed a huge number of Genesis carts lined up on a shelf . . . as my palms started to sweat :) I found they were all sports titles (many of them dupes).

How do 30 copies of Genny sports titles suddenly appear? With 8 being the exact game . . .

I've also found player's guides that seem to come in bunches.

I suspect that GS gets a tax write off this way????

Yeah, Surge in Europe is called Vault. They just brought it back, and added some energy stuff to it.

Good, Surge was gone for quite a while, I dunno why they got rid of it. Expired cans and bottles of Surge were doing pretty well on ebay for a while, people really missed that stuff.

In Connecticut they all sent their NES/SNES/Gen stuff to one of the larger stores to sell it all out. That was a sad day because that store was almost two hours from me.

The Gamestops around me did that...fortunately though they only moved them across the street from the mall store which is no bigger than a closet to a strip store.
Hmm... did someone get Battles of Prince of Persia? It was in before the update and gone after the update. Strange timing.
actually, the same thing happened with Gunstar GBA. Odd...
They aren't new price drops, been those prices for at least a week.
Then they're new to me, because I haven't looked in a week. Thats pretty cheap for both of those.
