Loving the updates lately!

i'm surprised you didn't get it honestly.. i got distracted and came to the update slightly late.

Wasn't meant to be, I guess.

Has anyone received their games yet from the morning update in the past week? I'm curious to see how many games are coming complete, considering how good the updates have been lately.
Huge 64 update.

Missed Illision of Gaia (fucking FireFox), but got OgreBatle 64. Like my first real score ever from the update :p Looks like I might have to add my N64 to the pile of systems in my living room.
You stole my OB64! haha congrats man.
How much was it listed for? $20-something?
19.99, so A/C it would've been a cool $15. Not as good as if you found it at GC, but a fine price otherwise for a fantastic game.

I grabbed Final Fight 3

Sorry about that
how much was TOD 2
I think it's 34.99 as my buddy picked one up B&M recently & said that's how much he it was before discount & usually B&M and online prices are the same.

Riddle me this... since EB's site has the inventory of each store loaded in, would EB's customer support be able to find that data and let me know if there were a copy of a game nearby? Obviously this would be in relation to the out of stock titles that I can't view the store locator on.

I believe their inventory and customer service departments are COMPLETELY independent. At least, when I was a store manager less than a year ago CS could not give me inventory information from other stores.

To those wondering: Valkyrie Profile was not complete and the disc has someone's name written on it in marker. I'm considering sending it back, as I could handle disc only, but the name on it is a little much.

I received Thousand Arms today. No manual, and there's a small white barcode sticker on the label of Disc Two. Nice to receive the original case and artwork though!

Ugh... OB64 is on hold. Time to preemptively call them. Probably either the stupid shipping problem they've been having (I didn't give them enough extra credit on my card to overcharge me) or something else goofy, don't want to risk that bad boy being cancelled.

Edit: Good good, shipped this evening. Kind of annoying how they don't give you the UPS tracking info anymore. I always have to email. But I guess the benefit is it goes 3-day select instead of SAVER.

Try using hairspray and rubbing alcohol on it. Hairspray worked wonders on the permanent marker that was on my ps1 Brave Fencer discs.

Every once in a while Atlus stocks the manuals o their website. Try looking there from time to time and you'll have a complete copy for an extra $3.
how often do they restock cause i been waiting over a year for some of them to come back in stock and they never do
I've seen them come in twice...but you never know when they'll do it again.

You can try an eraser as well.
You can try an eraser as well.
That works too, but I found that it may leave small scratches on the disc, just be gentle with it I guess.

Will keep that in mind. I read that lighter fluid works too. It takes more time because it is not as potent, but it won't ruin labels or such. Anyone tried it?
I have found that lately used games for EB look just a bad as used games from Gamestop, hmmmmm.

I am going to miss Ebgames.
I already miss them.
exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. just return it.
I was lucky that my local EB took the bootleg Aria of Sorrow back. The cashier gave me some crap that the game must be "defective" for them to grant a return--he told me that the fact that the game was an illegitimate copy wasn't enough (I also don't think he believed me when I told him it was a bootleg). Right now I'm just hoping that this isn't true, and that he was confused about EB's return policy.

Since the bootleg copy didn't allow for saving, I was still able to return it as a defective item at least. Unless it turns out that they are required to process returns on bootleg games, I'm much more concerned about ordering GBA games online from EB.
Bah, i feel dumb asking this, but where do you guys get your morning update info from?
Hey, don't feel dumb. I asked the same thing when I was a Cheap Ass Newbie!

EBGames updates their online supply from like 6-7 AM on weekday mornings. It's never an exact time... Usually somewhere between there, though.

Basically, some of the people on the site who are looking for ultra-rare and hard to find games will sit there and refresh (I don't know how often... I know personally I did it every minute once), until new games are added. There's no official notifaction or anything when something new is added, though. You basically just have a mental list of the games that were expensive and in-stock (usually only a few), and then take note. They sort the prices from high to low, 'cause the rare stuff usually sells for a higher price than most of the console's games. When something new comes in stock that's noteworthy, they post it here. After a few days of doing this, you get a pretty good idea of what's usually in stock and what's not. If it's usually not there, somebody will make a post on it, because it's likely a relatively hard-to-find game.

So really, there's no like "master list" of updates they can see, or anything. This topic (which is re-created over and over) is a great example of some of the really helpful people that come to this site.

did you take the game out of the baggie before you returned it? i noticed it was a bootleg right through the bag so i didn't bother opening it. if you don't open it then they won't have any problem taking the game back. and the guys at my EB didn't seem to believe there were any such things as GBA bootlegs either.

also, i think it's mostly Aria of Sorrow bootlegs floating around. i haven't seen too many other bootlegs. so i think it's pretty safe to order GBA games for the most part. however, i personally will not buy Aria of Sorrow anywhere unless i see the actual item first. the only other bootleg i've seen is Phantasy Star Collection at that same EB ironically.

Only thing I would change with that is the update is generally between 7 and 8AM EST. Closer to 7, usually.

And now let's see if I can get lucky two days in a row after Ogre Battle 64 yesterday. Still pissed that FireFox stopped me from getting Gaia. Might just pull out IE for my morning updates.

No fair. It's between 4 and 5 AM here. If I wasn't so addicted to these morning updates, I'd actually get some sleep before my 8 AM classes, hehe.

At least you're not pressed for time... if the update doesn't happen by 7:15 or so, I'm screwed... still gotta shower and get dressed for work at 8.

haha, oh well. if the updates were at a better time, then there'd be so much more competition for the rare games.

Perfect timing for me . . . 6am Central. I just woke up and I'm making coffee . . . I leave for work about 8am.
