If you have a problem with a retailer, please feel free to discuss it here, but I really can't fathom why you would email a retailer a link to CAG in your dealings with them. I cannot let you compromise the future of this site over $3 game.

A little more thought and a little less rash action goes a long way.
If you are unsure what is appropriate, feel free to PM me.

Thanks,
I assume this is about the whole selling opened games as new thing?
the person that started it put a link to a message on the cag board along with his signature

It's about more than that. There have been many posts where people will show a letter that they sent to a company and they tell the company "I'm gonna tell CAG......" with the link for this site. It's stupid. I'm glad Cheapy is posting this.

I think you unintentionally set a precedent for such when you posted your letter to Best Buy after that staff member shouted at you to purchase the extended warranty plan. It should go without saying that it's different when it's your own web site, but some folks are easily led (as some of the political threads have shown.......mwuahahaha... had to get that dig in.)

i agree, cheapy has a working relationship with many of the online retailers people complain about, its like that one letter that was posted here a while ago, someone was whining about something and at the end of his letter he squeezed in www.cheapassgamer.com for some reason or another...it just makes no sence and could potentially hurt the relationship between cheapy and that retailer

The difference being I never mentioned CAG when I spoke to the Best Buy representatives.

As I said in the first post, I have no problem with you discussing problems with retailers here. Often your fellow CAGs can help you come up with solutions.

Just leave CAG out of it when you contact these companies.

EDIT: Ooops...I did mention CAG in my email to BB, I apologize.

I did this because I felt it was only fair that I fully disclose my identity & intentions and I did not post anything on CAG until after the situation was resolved. Regardless, I'm sure you can see how the situations are different.
I think this should be a sticky icky icky.
i think this should be common sence..? :?

Well, my apologies for posting the link to this site, in the future I'll be careful with that. Blind rage does kind of take over when you get ripped off, though. Even if it was for a few measely bones, it still means it could happen again with 50 not so measely bones. Honestly, the single reason for posting the link here was to save some typing instead of posting links to each individual image.

So, I'm stupid. And don't anyone come back to me with "Don't beat yourself up." or anything like that.

Anywho, sorry about that Cheapy.
first rule of cag, don not talk about cag
second rule, if youre a n00b, you post a deal your first week
second rule of CAG : don't talk about CAG
third rule of CAG : everybody flames. I mean fights. I mean posts.

I don't know why these cracker ass crackers have to be name dropping this site, I mean, even if you tell the guy on the other end of the phone or the computer screen that you'll called the Better Business Bureau, they're not gonna care, it's some kid making a Benjamin a month after school. You can't threaten him because the gas station is always hiring.

Thats exactly right!

As far as getting a sealed, game I woulda been on the phone directly to lawsuit/or get a new disc.

Luckally ive received new games as po, instead of the other way around.

Wasn't there a cat who threatened to unleash the power of CAG on EB? IIRC, I think his problem was that the Halo Edition XBox didn't come with two controllers, as the clerk had mistakenly promised.

I hope he changed his email before sending it out.
