Just figured id share, noticed this on my 'sugestions for you' notes. Looks like a good pre-order price, i remember i pre-ordered the first movie around that price (and got a neat keychain)

I havent heard of any pre-order bonus with this one. Has anyone heard anything about one? Id like a little omake item. I actually need to watch the series and movie again on BD. I have them both but havent seen them =P Im hoping Funi did a good job with this release? I just saw the fansubs when they were coming out and loved it. Actually, this reminds me that i never did watch this 2nd movie! I guess i'll check out the series and movie BD's then d.load and watch the 2nd movie. Its the final part of the series right? I think i recall hearing about a 3rd movie but think its just a recap

Yes, Paradise Lost is the conclusion of the series. There's a compilation movie for the TV series, but that's not being released here for obvious reasons. And Funimation did a stellar job with the localization - the English dub is easily just as good as the original Japanese version. You're in for a treat.

lol ya, little tiny paragraph on my thoughts on the series, and ask if anyone knew about pre-order bonus's and stuff i guess =P More fun than just a blank page and link, no?

good to hear about the release, but i was talking more along the lines of video and audio transfer quality. I almost never touch dubs. Though there are a few decent ones out there. (Baccano was decent from what i heard, which was a funi project) Is the video/audio done right? Funimation has had some pretty awful looking releases. Not to mention how they butcher some shows. I.E. removing the touching montage scene at the end of FMP episode 17 for a black screen with english credits, and several other offenses. Including recently how they ruined the entire ED for Seto no Hanayome. That one was bad enough for me to pass on the whole series. Funimation is pretty bad about stuff like that sometimes. They seem to be of the mentality that its better to actually remove content than, god forbid, show the original Japanese credits, if they cant get a blank source! Im hoping there were none of those shenanigans on this release
 
I figure I will try to watch the series and first movie I purchased before dipping another $20 in for the movie, but hoping it is good. :whistle2:/

The video and audio are both top-notch. Seriously, check out the dub, you'll be very happy with it. The one minor blemish is that the original Oasis opening only plays on episode one, as it was apparently too costly to use for each individual episode. But if you absolutely need to see it, like I said, it's still on there for the first episode.

wait.. WHAT?! they changed the OP? What did they do, just take it out, or put some other garbage in there? That right there is some of the crap im talking about, thats all kinda fail right there. I guess at the very least they have it on one episode.. but im the type of person who watches the op every episode if i liked it. And i LOVED the op for EoE. That is really gonna piss me off when i watch the series. BLEA. I may actually just not even bother and stick to my fansubs. Too bad the money is already spent for that.

I tried to google what the deal was with that, but everything goes to funimation forum posts that no longer exist >_< I supose i dont have to worry about op's being switched for this movie though.
 
Placed an order to lock in the price...even though I have the series and first movie sitting untouched on my shelf. I haven't even seen anything more than streaming the first 5 minutes of the first episode as a test run to make sure I wasn't immediately turned off. That's the power of strong word of mouth, I suppose.

FYI, Air Communication has been released by FUNimation already. It's one of the extras found in the first movie release. It's English sub only as well.

They replaced it with a different song, but kept the visuals the same. You realize that it's likely not Funimation's fault, right? I'm sure they fought tooth-and-nail for it, and the end result is that we still got it on the first episode. If it comes down to an issue of money, and the choices are either what they ended up doing, or not getting the show over here at all, I'd much rather the former be the end result. And ultimately, the change doesn't impact the greatness of the show in the least.
 
I'm not exactly a fan of the packaging they are using for this. The extender things inside the case for King of Eden snapped during transit. Plus, since they are doing the stupid hollywood like DVD + Blu combo crap, so it comes in a DVD case and looks odd on my shelf full of blus.

hah, im in the same boat as you, both sitting untouched. I have seen the original series though and have the fansubs.. sounds like thats what i will be watching for my viewings too if they did indeed change the OP. The OP was rocking and having something else, or nothing playing every episode would kill the show for me.

I also pre-ordered just to lock in the price since this is about what i payed for the last movie. I was wondering if there was gonna be any pre order bonus though like with the last one. I want a little keychain or something!

Do you really think Funimation fought tooth and nail for it? Seriously? THis is the same company that instead of bothering companies for a clean ED or something for a show, they chose to just completely remove it rather than leave japanese text on a show. I seriously doubt they gave 2 craps one way or another.

and it may not bug you but it seriously pisses me off, and DOES ruin the show for me. Im serious when i say that if i knew about that i would not have purchased the show. As it stands i dont think i will ever watch the BDs honestly now. I will stick to the original fansubs i have. Maybe upgrade to a good JP BD rip or something. I just wish i never gave Funi my money for it now =( I really need to stop buying Funimation products without researching them thoroughly to see how/if they butchered it. I guess thats gonna mean no more real pre-orders. I was eyeballing high school of the dead since it was in my gold box deals, but who knows if that will get screwed up somehow

Reminds me of how pissed i was when i realized Viz screwed over the Hunter X Hunter release. Those asses only used the first OP for the entire series run

anyway, heres to hoping this movie isn't molested. I wouldn't think it would be since theres nor eal OP/ED or anything, but who knows

Nice! Haven't watched the first movie yet cuz I was waiting for this one. I'll rewatch the series and then both movies back to back. Series was sooooo good.

pretty weak pre-order bonus honestly.. wondering if its worth the extra money gonig with them. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it drops in price, but i dont think its worth an extra 9 bucks
