EdgeFX (Mouse input for PS2) At Gamestop for $30

Hey, didn't know if anyone else posted this, but it's a pretty good solution for playing PS2 and PS3 games (with a convertor like the Pelican one) with a mouse. The PS3 version I guess retails for something like $60, so $40-45 after a PS2-PS3 converter is a pretty good deal for mouse support in games like R:FOM. I picked it up yesterday and I love it. Apparently it used to retail for $60-70 when it came out according to reviews.

(The mousing surface that is on the included pad is useless, though. It's like that black foamy material that doesn't really work with optical mice. Just tape a decent pad on and you're good to go.)

Would you say this would only be good for FPS's? There doesn't seem to be a ton of FPS's for PS2 (maybe Timesplitters or SOCOM, BLACK, etc).

If they had one for XBOX I would be in, as I have a TON of FPS's for that...

Basically any game where you could see an advantage in using a mouse instead of a joystick for the right analog stick. All buttons are easily accessible by basically the same fingers that would have used them in the first place.

Edit: and there IS one for 360, playasia has it but I think it's like $60 or $70, and you need a wired controller to start it up.
I got the PS2 version for free and gave it away the following week. It sucks.
Why do you think it sucked? Details?

I thought mine sucked too until I tried using it on a different surface. Before it was inconsistent and caused jagged movement. If that's the problem you had, shoulda used a different mousepad ; )

If you don't believe me, just look up pretty much any review of the edgefx, they're all positive (IGN gave it like a 9/10 or something)

Yeah, I saw all the positive reviews as well, which is why I was considering it. $30 is a better price but still seems a little pricey for this peripheral. I might pull the trigger, though. ;)
