A lot of people picked up PS3s this week due to a perfect storm of a price drop, deals at Circuit City and Amazon, the 5 Blu Ray rebate, and the news that the 80 GB PS3 model will cost more than the 60 GB does right now with no emotion engine. So how big of a factor was them taking out the EE? For me it was the tipping point, but getting it under $450 with the Blu Ray promotion was the biggest factor.

It was probably second most important to me, the price drop being first. The extra controller from CC and the free Blu-Ray movies are nice too, but I've got a large collection of PS1/2 games that I still play regularly. Knowing that there won't be compatibility issues factored heavily into my decision.

The price drop was first, the free controller second, the movies third, and the lack of EE fourth. That being said, I have a huge collection of last gen games that I wanted to make sure I could still play on the ps3.

I couldn't really care less about it. I'm one of those people that won't really go back to a game after a year or so, with a few exceptions. I've cleared out most of my PS2 library already and there isn't really much left to come out that I would need the EE for.

Not a factor at all for me, I dont have a PS2 and never have had one and I dont plan on buying any PS2 games for it.

If I wasn't waiting for a Bluetooth revision, I'd own one right now. If I had a completely functioning PS2, I wouldn't bother.

It was a huge factor for me as I've never owned any version of Playstation and plan on playing PS1 and PS2 games that I've missed until the price drops on PS3 games. :)
A small factor, when I buy a second PlayStation 3 for myself.
Stupid question.....but why a second PS3?
