I just got the May EGM and saw an ad for this giveaway.

2 Grand prize winners will receive a Motorstorm 80 gig PS3 bundle and Rock Band Special Edition for PS3.

10 Runner ups will receive a Goozex gift card valued at $110 (10 trade credits and 2000 points).

The above link requires a subscription to enter, however you can use this link to enter without subscribing. My main reason for posting was to point out this link, as some may not have seen it.

Either method requires the promotional code in the May issue of EGM. I won't post the code unless someone from EGM or Goozex says it's allowed. The code can be found on page 79 of the May 2008 issue (featuring SOCOM for PS3) and possibly on 1up.com later this month.

You can also enter by sending a SASE to the address in the fine print on either page.

Online entries must be received between 12:01 am on April 8, 2008 and 11:59 pm (Eastern Standard Time) on May 5, 2008.

Well, this has my interest. Either I round out the console trio, get a bunch of game credit, or... nothing happens.

Yeah, my magazine doesn't get here until the 15th either, and thats assuming it gets here. I'm still waiting for my a-pril issue that never showed up.
 
where would I find this code? I have egm mag subscription but I dont know which mag is the one...dont know how I can tell

And I doubt it's a April fools joke since it was mentioned in the last Goozex newsletter, though that said it was supposed to be in the April issue but I don't remember seeing it, perhaps it was pushed back an issue.

I randomly ordered two free subscriptions to EGM, so every month I get two (yeah it's a pain). Both mags have the same code, so I'm guessing the code is the same for everyone?

The April's Fool Joke was already announced to be the "Lego: Halo" story. So you dont have to worry about the contest being a joke.

I have the April edition in front of me (its the one with GTA IV on the cover) and a brief scan showed no pages labeling any Goozex/EGM contest or any code of any kind except for the old Halo 3 contest, unless I missed the code. Now the contest webpage shows us that the code was supposed to be in the April issue, so can anyone else check the April issue to prove the hypothesis that the code will definitely be put in the May issue due to it not being in the previous month?
 
Submited entry in to April and May contests. Thanks op for telling me I usually only look at the stuff that catches my eye.

The code is in the MAY 2008 issue, pg. 79.

Thanks for the heads up.

I like EGM quite a bit, not a big fan of 1up though. It probably has to do with having a subscription for a ridiculous amount of years left for free, as well as I usually read it on the can so anything is better than nothing.

Scatch this...the OP has a link were you don't need to subscribe to enter. They should mention that in the magazine ad or on the contest page that requires a subscription.

How did you manage to get past that? The page/site should have stopped and said "danger" or something that would flash the box and say ENTER REQUIRED INFO when you clicked submit XD.

Guess you didn't read the post above you, did you? You don't need to subscribe. There's a option below the terms & conditions that links to the page that people can use to sign up for the contest w/o buying a subscription.

BTW, did anyone notice the codes for the Halo 3 & Goozex contests are the same?

Guess you didn't read the post above you, did you? You don't need to subscribe. There's a option below the terms & conditions that links to the page that people can use to sign up for the contest w/o buying a subscription.

Thanks for the heads up OP. I only ever skim the thing briefly. It's definitely a sub-par mag, but a free subscription to something teenage/pre-teen boys will read is always welcome in my house. Why do some folks not get it till the 15th?

Yeah, considering its not unique I dont see the need to not post it:\ Everyone on CAG I would assume has a free subscription to EGM until the end of time anyways, so why not help those of us out who wont get our May issue until the middle of the month.

Well I didn't post it because I had no idea if it was unique or not and EGM/Goozex must not want it freely available or they'd have it on their sites.
