If that Rez Sequel is true, I hope they pack it was another Trance Vibrator! But then again, if the Wiimote is strong enough I suppose it won't be necessary. :D And I think the control scheme would be perfect for the Wiimote if the gameplay remains true to the original.

Given the success of FFIII in Japan over the past week, I'm not surprised to hear about a "huge" DS game based on FFXIII. It is strange, however, that FFXIII will be on the PS3 but the spin-off on a different company's platform. *shrugs*

Perhaps 30 games is a public service announcement from Nintendo in order to expose the masses to various other forms of exercise. Hence -

"Stop playing the fucking virtual version and do the real thing! But, of course, keep buying our games."

Makes sense to me.

Honestly, that would be freakin sweet. Imagine pushing the wiimote forward slowly, and then grabbing it and doing the sweeping motion. Best game ever.

Is there a tally anywhere of how often EGM rumors are true? I don't know anything about FFXIII, but more SRPGs are good for me!

That's an impressive list. I've been struggling to come up with 10.

I can't believe they can fit 30 full-fledged games on there. I was happy with tennis, golf, baseball, and the flying game.
 
Someone needs to make a master EGM rumor list, and we need to check how many end up becoming true.

I'm betting on none at the moment.

Unfortunately they're intelligent enough to only voice rumors that won't be occuring in the next 6-12 months. So by the time the rumor should be validated, no one remembers it.
 
Dang thinking about 30 sport games on Wii sports and how I'd have to move to play em....man if some of these like curling are in it I gotta try. I've won numerous curling trophies so that would be so fun to play a game I am good at and enjoy =D Hopefully they dont make it super easy though

That actually sounds like a possibility with most of the potential Wii Sports games. Good thing Nintendo thought ahead and is including a wrist strap in case of slippage :)

Maybe it will be similar to the Dreamcast game Sports Jam (http://dreamcast.ign.com/objects/016/016098.html) I would think it is going to be a combo of whole sports games (golf, baseball,etc.) and sports related mini-games.

Sailing could be cool. You could use the Wii-mote like a rudder, then have to use it with the nunchuck to "pull" ropes to raise sails, etc.
 
curling would be awesome!!! I've never had a chance to play it in real life (live in Florida). But I definately want that included.
 
More likely the Rez sequel would be a spiritual successor then a real sequel. Still, I'm looking forward to that. As for EGM's rumors, they once stated a new Splatterhouse was being made, and that led nowhere. I did hear it was possibly canned. Damn EGM for destroying my hope!
 
Hmm 30 wii sports games....
I hope not, because well I don't want to play 30 subpar games. What I really want is for them to do what they always do, instead of Wii sports, just put mario in it and sell it for $50, lol (no seriously I enjoy mario sports games, but you have to admit there is alot of them). Although I will be knocking on reggie's door at 1 AM in the morning if they put that plane game in wii sports and do not make a pilotwings sequal because pilotwings 64 was a kickass game. As for the FFXIII game, I see potential here, if they can stop making crappy final fantasy games that are not ports (although FF III is not a port it is still FF III)...
 
Just because there MIGHT be 30 different sports doesn't mean they will be on the same disc.

Pilot Wings and Wave Race could be on one disc that is just called "Wii Sports: xxxxx".

Well, I remember in EGM about a year ago one of the rumors was that there was going to be a super-duper-top-secret Lego Star Wars II - based on the original trilogy and all!

Of course, I saw that coming from the moment I played Lego Star Wars and it was cemented as a cold hard sure-thing the first time I saw Lego Star Wars near the top of the sale charts a few months after it's release :rofl:. (Bring out the money printing DS graphic, and sub the DS for a copy of Lego Star Wars, any platform).

So maybe they increase their success rate by throwing in a few obvious rumors to offset the dead wrong ones.

A good amount of their rumors come true or were true at the time that they appear in the magazine.
