Electroplankton - by Toshio Iwai ( Nintendo Dual Screen / NDS ) 24.99 OUTPOST.COM

Not bad, only $4 off retail after shipping though. Might have to hope EB has a free shipping promo when this gets released. Or GS since you can always get free shipping. Have people had good experiences preordering at Outpost? I think its Overstock that people have had issues with.
Decent deal but I would just use the BB coupon for $10 off.
Won't be available in stores. Only select online retailers.

I didn't think that anyone outside of Nintendo.com would be selling this game. If outpost is getting it then maybe their is hope that Fry's B&M will have it.

According to Nintendo, only nintendo.com and select online retailers will have it available. No B&M anywhere supposedly.

EXCEPT for their Nintendo World Store in NYC, if you read the right (any) articles online pertaining to this. ;)

Me wishes I had a nearby Nintendo World Store... :(

I have definitely heard of people having problems with outpost preorders...that's why i've stayed away despite that they constantly have discounts on preorders of good games. anyone with personal experience?

I preordered GTA: San Andreas (PS2) from Outpost way back when it first came out and although the shipping was extremely slow, I had no real problems.

Thanks a bunch, OP. This was one of the biggest reasons I got a DS in the first place, so I can't wait to get my mitts on it.

I sprung for the 2nd day shipping, since it was less than 50 cents more than the ground option.

Yeah, as mentioned, no worries with outpost.com preorders. They have the best deals on preorders usually (eg: MGS3 at launch for $35.99, Winning Eleven 8 for $29.99 at launch, BF2: SF for $19.99; all with free shipping). Sure they'll say it's on backorder and they may not have enough, but just wait and it'll come in a week or so.

Some things that have happened with preorder's though:
a) Price DROPS by $5 from already low price
b) Price RAISES to normal price, but has free shipping still
c) Free shipping vanishes
d) Any semblence of a "deal" vanishes, as free shipping goes away and price is retail again

Any of those can happen very suddenly, so it's a real crapshoot when you want to get the BEST deal. I would preorder as soon as possible with them then.

I really wanted this $uck but i refuse to spend $25 + Shipping. Hope Bestbuy, Walmart and CC have this game available instore.

If it has such a limited release I wonder if they aren't going to make that many copies of the game and it quickly will become rare. I was considering picking it up but was hoping to get it for under $20 total but now I'm reconsidering getting it from Outpost since I'd rather pay around $31 - $32 compared to $50+ which it will probably be selling on EBay for a few months after they stop selling it.
This "Game" was fun for about a week. It's neat and cool, but I suggest trying before you buy
How?

So what is the verdict... should we expect this to be cheaper elsewhere in the next two weeks, preorder bonuses, or is this probably the deal to go with? Does Outpost let you cancel your preorder if a better deal pops up elsewhere prior to release?

Audience mode seems like it might be something fun to let go while I'm at work in place of my Yahoo Launhcast.

Outpost doesn't let you order multiples to save on shipping. I guess they're trying to discourage resellers. Might be Nintendo's restriction.

Hey, it's a stoner toy, so obviously it's not for everyone.

Wow. I thought it would have been at nintendo.com and their NYC store only also. Regardless, I might pick up a few copies for posterity sake (already have the import). I'll make a great gift for a few of my friends and I foresee it getting rare in the coming years.

It's a great "game", honestly.

I imported it back in March because I didn't think Nintendo would release it here. This is close enough, so I don't feel like an idiot (And the Jap packaging is cool as hell.)

It may not be for everyone, but it's really unique and it's a pretty cool showcase for the DS' functions.
Master, AGAIN, only select ONLINE retailers will be carrying this. RETAIL stores will not.
What's wrong with you? Why do you keep expecting people to read threads before they post?

Man, I'm a smarmy bitch. That TRU thread made me a little edgy, I guess.

Isn't this game a music generator type? If you've played it, could you describe it a bit? If it's good enough, I'll pick it up at BB with the $10 coupon (har).

Think of it as a cross between mousetrap and those metal desktop balls that clack back and forth mixed with a visualizer from and audio program. Throw in different nintendo noises and a few audio clips that you make yourself. Not a game, not a demo, it just "is".

wow that sounded hippie-ish...

Yaeh you can throw me in that department also. I was all ready with my CC to order just through Nintendo and I probably still will, unless some B&M gets it (most likely Fry's now since if Outpost gets it, then it's an indication that there is a 95% chance that Fry's will also)

Again, at the moment this game isn't set for a wide release but rather only through Nintendo.com and some online retailers and Nintendo's B&M in New York. Later on though they may decide that it has enough appeal for a wider release, but currently this is what it is set at.

D'oh! Your computer's sarcasm detector is broken! Better get that checked out.

Hmmmm. Mousetrap? How so? So far, it's sounding good. I'll have to go check the internets for more informations.

Im really into weird shit like this, though. Although your point is a good one. It doesnt look to be for everyone.

Im tempted to buy this to play on my sisters DS.

Anyone that's curious about the game, check out some videos of it on IGN. This has been one of my most anticipated titles for a long time after watching a few clips.

Although this game will only be sold online, chances are that it won't become rare. I hear that supply will be high, so don't get your hopes up.

Why do Animal Crossing and Mario Kart DS get added to my cart when I go to check out? Mario Kart I have but Animal Crossing for $23 is a good deal if it's legit.

Nevermind, when I went to checkout Animal Crossing went back up to $34.99.

I bought my DS specifically for this 'game', after I bought the import. It never fails to amaze and delight my friends and I am always entertained by it. Showcases many great features of the DS. NOTHING else like it. I love music programs however and have the homebrews, Nanoloop and LSDJ for GB. This does not allow programming music like those do but emphasizes improvisation/chaos.
Really a work of art more than a game and clearly shows how differently Japan views the platform from US coders.
My .02.

Just wait till ebgames.com has it then use the trick where you put a used game into your cart and use the saver code, cag 15 and your edge card to get free shipping + % off your used game.

Tempting to wait for that, but without any knowledge of the supply and how many people who buy it go in knowing what its like (so are not likely to immediately trade it in), hard to say how easy it will be to come by used.

I'm buying this game, at full price, from the Nintendo online website only to send a clear message to Nintendo that I want them to localize and sell small quantities of 'cream of the crop' Japanese games.

Don't waste money on shelf space, rely on word of mouth, and let those of us who really want these games have at them.

Errr i mean the trick where you buy electroplankton new and then you stick another used game (like a .99 one) into your cart to get free shipping for the whole order.

Oh, yeah, that works too ;) Or FREESHIPALL works on new games at Gamestop.com, doesn't it?

Well, I really want this, but I think I'll just wait 'til release and pick it up through nintendo.com or another site that I've dealt with before, like ebgames or gamestop. Never dealt with Outpost, and this is that great of a deal anyway.

Just got it with 2nd day shipping!
It was still a deal though.
I think this game will probably become as rare as REZ.
