Electroplankton - by Toshio Iwai ( Nintendo Dual Screen / NDS ) 24.99 OUTPOST.COM

I thought you guys might be interested to know that a few minutes ago, I spoke with a rep at the telephone-side of the Nintendo store who told me that the official in-house inventory is showing 2,083 copies of Electrplankton being in-stock and available to order. This number did not include online orders that are awaiting a confirmation. He had no information to indicate that there are a limited number of copies that will be Available, just that the game will have limited Distribution. Maybe it's not quite as limited as everyone believes - ? In any case, if you've already ordered Electroplankton from Nintendo (or are planning to order soon), odds are that you'll be getting it. :)

Not sure since the Japanese version seems to be available through many vendors.

It's a flippin game!

Who cares. Get it, play it, enjoy it, and have fun.

If you are not buying to play, let someone else buy it instead.

Did you use the term "flip" on purpose? =) If so, nice pun!

Wrong!

And Wrong!

The correct answer is:
Yes, because Nintendo only made 1,000 copies!

(Hint: My post was making fun of the people who you thought I was one of. And from longtime CAGers too... I am ashamed of you...)

BTW: I already have it ordered from Nintendo's site.

There are a ton of the Japanese version on ebay, yesasia, lik-sang, and play-asia with headphones if anyone is looking to find a copy. I read there is almost no language barrier. Also does anyone know if the Japanese version is superior in any way to the English version (does the Japanese version have a save feature?).

I had the Japan version. No save feature and there's zero text. Import to your hearts content.

I thought it wouldnt be available at B&M. I just checked the EB website for this and it says that my local EB's have them in stock! I'll check it out at lunch in 20min,...

It seems random. Promo/display copies for sale? For those in the Pittsburgh area, the EB on Peach Street in Erie has one (don't ask why I know where that is :p). And for reference, that's the only and closest store to Cleveland that has one. Random and odd.

OK came back from eb and they had one. The one I preordered last week. I had store credit and wasnt aware that it was online only. I called them yesterday and they told me it was web only and I had to change my preorder. Well went in and picked it up today, it was opened (those bastards) tried it out for a couple min. Pretty sweet in a non-game toy/gadget way.

Sorry, I don't understand what the hell you are talking about.
Sorry, I don't understand what the hell you are talking about.
I thought since every time this game is mentioned in any thread, someone inevitably asks about shortages and all that I would try and revive a running gag from the boards. But apparently no one's memory extends beyond one year. Just shut up about it already. It's not funny now.

Not everyone asks that question because they're interested in turning a profit. Sometimes you just don't have much spare money at the moment, and want to know if it would be foolish to wait.
Didn't say but they need to still send me a processed e-mail, so I'll let you know.
I ordered from the 'Nintendo.com ' Monday and it came in Thursday evening... I paid the extra few bucks for 3 day.

Outpost started shipping them today. This is the second time I pre-ordered from them (first time was Mario Kart DS) and both times the game shipped about 10 days after release elsewhere. Since I was in no rush in either case, it was no big deal but are they like this for all pre-orders?

Most of the times, yes. Sometimes longer. Rarely sooner.

and it arrived today. it says airborne ground as the shipping method, but it must seriously have taken no more than two days to get here. bravo, outpost. first time you've come through. total $31.49, nice.
