Embed YouTube Video?

Yeah, it automatically causes the video to embed.

Which reminds me, did we ever find a way where you could JUST hotlink to Youtube videos? I know that sounds archaic but there are times when I just want to send a link to it, and not embed it in a post.

I asked about it a while ago but I don't think an answer ever appeared.

True, but if posting in blogs, it won't show in the main blog listing unless you use the youtube tags. In other words, you can't see the embeded video unless you click the link to the blog post.

I don't think it is possible anymore.
 
Right. I'm saying I want the ability to do that. Usually this is useful for FAQs and other threads designed to help people, where you just want to link to something rather than show it off.

But eh. Not that big of a deal. I just don't like not having the option.

My mistake, I misunderstood the comment.

It does seem a bit strange that there is no option to prevent embedding youtube though.
