Employee STOLE $157 GC from Gamecrazy **EDIT: I GOT MY 157 BACK and He's Been FIRED**
well i went to gamecrazy today. i got a nice manager and i got my 157 dollars back on my card. He told me after 1 hr of investigating that it was an employee who did it and he'll check the tapes today. In summary, i got money back and employee is getting his ass fucked.
Noice! Too bad the employee who stole your money wasn't present when you confronted the manager. He would have been shitting bricks if he happened to listen on your conversation with the manager because he probably figured he could get away with it.

Come on, how the heck could you get away with $157 worth of store credit? Especially when they document every transaction. The bastard had to know that he would get busted for it.

It's like the call center I worked at, they have cameras and monitor orders so employees can't commit fraud at the customer's expense.

"Criminals" and "common sense" rarely go together. I guess the guy never heard of "salami slicing". :)

Anyways, thanks to the OP for updating us on the situation, and I'm glad everything worked out. I guess I need to start keeping an eye on my giftcard balances now.

Well at least he's earning that money now. Squeal like a pig boy!

Cool! Sucks it happened...but it does in this world. If its a few bucks I can see why the employee would *think* he would get away with it as someone may not come back right away to use it and may forget about the small amount...but $157? Bold.

Should have called me up, azn.

I could have downed him with an active reload Longshot, and you could have curbstomped him.

OP, where do you live?

If "H-town" stands for Hagerstown, MD, I have a quite fucked up recent story of my own I could share.

I wouldve told the guy if hes fired or not id like to know if the store is gonna press charges cause if it isnt im going to.
Did you get anything free out of the deal?
Could you tell us why he did this to you?
i wish i knew why. Maybe he got pissed i was using the 50% trade-in promotion a lot.
I'm glad you got your money back, but they should have given you something for your time. Oh well, at least justice has been served :applause:
Yeah... it would've been cool if they said "Here's your gift card back. For your trouble we went ahead and rounded it up to $200 for ya".

For everyone wondering how he got it to zero, he could have just put a credit on his account for the exact amount.

Also, the gift card system and the computers are horrid. I worked at GC for about 8 month and at least once a week I would have to call Customer Service because the computer would wipe a card, so I see where Scorch was coming from. Also the whole number is on the back the card so it would be very easy to use it again because the computer allows for manual entry if the card doesn't swipe (dirty).

GameCrazy is really going down hill and fast. Right after I left the manager of one of the other stores was fired because she abused a glitch in the pre-order system.

Apparently if you put down the entire amount on a game, end the transaction and then on another transaction, return the pre-order money and buy the pre-ordered game, it will return the money twice: once paying for the game and once giving back the money that you put on the game. Thus making the game free.

holy shit does that glitch still work? One of my best friends at the time I worked there got fired for doing that for hundreds of dollars of stuff. It was around two years ago now, though.

They canned me even after I told the manager, because I knew about it and one completely legitimate transaction in which I canceled a pre-order resembled the glitch. I think it was just an excuse, the DM didn't like me because I didn't tell every soccer mom in there buying $5 gamecube games to pre-order NCAA football.

As of April it still worked, but thats when they found out about it. Since then the DM and the RM have also gotten canned. Glad I got out when I did.

One of other guys that I used to work with says GC is on the outs, but is holding on for dear life. I guess me letting the black xbox slip didn't help.
