'End times' nonsense.

Seems to me, just like a certain Ghostbuster said, every ancient religion has it's own myth about the end of the world...

Everyone wants to believe that they are part of the 'end times'. Everyone wants to believe that they'll be rid of this place and go to a better place.

But how exactly does any of the end times nonsense help anything when all it does it cause people not to love each other?

The Christians (another beef I have with them) try to say the end times are happening any time a major event happens, and then try to tell you that you should not take the mark. But really, if you don't believe in Christianity, why should you believe in something that would supposedly happen in it's religion?

If you don't care about pc gaming, should you care when HL2 episode 2 comes out?

Christianity has simply forgotten it's message, hiding behind all this end times shit.

Furthermore, everytime a major event happens, they want you to 'buy a book', 'buy a cassette', 'buy a dvd'... They hardly tell you anything and then make you buy something...

I wouldn't go on the record, but it almost seems like a money making scheme...

Don't get me started on the muslims and other ones who believe in the end times as well.

But really, will the end ever come?

First of all, does anyone realize how stupid it is to think you know what the future holds when you haven't actually SEEN what the future holds? All of these christians wonder why no one trusts them noadays, its mainly because they've bullshited thru the endtimes saga for years now.

Secondly, when the twin towers fell, thousands of people accross the world saw it months before it happened.

If something that could kill 3000 people would do that, imagine what would happen if the end DID COME.

Really, the end is in our hands. We make our own choices. The only one who has seen the future is God. Acting like you know the future when you haven't seen it makes you nothing but a fool.

So live well, and remember that you can make your world better, or worse...

Ya know what? This is the Vs. forum.

If you want to emote and talk about how some bully kicked sand in your face, then perhaps you should visit that "off topic" place.

You sound confused, as if you believe in the "end times" but don''t want to believe in them. Or that you claim they're bullshit, but secretly believe that those bible stories are true and you can make them disappear if you live in denial.

Perhaps a therapist would be a better outlet than an internet message board.......just another random thought to add to your collection.

Hey, fuck off all you idiot cry babies !

SOMEBODY had to turn this thread into a Vs. one !

Never thought I'd use this 1990s euphemism:

Get a life.

"Waahhh...Christians have beliefs, and said beliefs scare me!"

When (and if) you really do become an adult, you'll learn to tune out things you consider background noise, get on with your own concerns and responsibilities, and stop whining about other people expressing their religious (or other) beliefs.

Well, yes. Everyone wants to feel they are part of something special, they're on the right team. What you're specifically talking about is Evangelicals, and not even all of them. Why they have grown so much in the last 20 years is a topic for debate. I think it has a lot to do with the baby boomers coming to grips with their mortality. Since they have gotten everything they have ever wanted like spoiled children, they believe themselves to be special. And being special, spoiled children, they just have to have the end times happen during their lifetimes. It plays into the self centered attitude of many of that generation.

The Christians (another beef I have with them) try to say the end times are happening any time a major event happens, and then try to tell you that you should not take the mark. But really, if you don't believe in Christianity, why should you believe in something that would supposedly happen in it's religion?

You shouldn't. But one should be aware of it, especially with the Evangelicals being in a place of political power as they are these days.

Christianity has simply forgotten it's message, hiding behind all this end times shit.

Well, not Christianity per se, but the evangelical movement perhaps. It does seem they worry more about following scripture and dogma more then try and follow the words and life of Christ. They depend on others to interpret it for them, so they are getting it through a pretty distorted filter. Look into the history of the Evangelicals, it's a fairly recent movement. And the Rapture and all that hullabaloo is completely farcical made up by a British dude in the late 1800's.

Furthermore, everytime a major event happens, they want you to 'buy a book', 'buy a cassette', 'buy a dvd'... They hardly tell you anything and then make you buy something...

I'll go on record, it is. Tel-evangelists are the backbone of the Evangelical movement, which blows my mind, 20 years ago these guys were a laughing stock stealing old ladies pension checks, now they have a loud voice. Sheesh.

Don't get me started on the muslims and other ones who believe in the end times as well.

Like you said, they all have them.

But really, will the end ever come?

No, that is not unless we're hit by a meteor or aliens invade or Johnny Storm uses his nova flame and burns the atmosphere off the the planet.

This ain't an emo topic, although I can see how one might inepret my topics as such.

As least one person gets it to a certain degree :whistle2:|

Let me interject a thought.

Even if your not into pc gaming, HL2 episode 2 will still be released. You don't have to believe in something for it to happen.

LOL :D

That wasn't the point, the point was that you can convert people to a cause when youre attempting to convert them by telling them about something that may or may not happen DURING THE CAUSE, instead of telling them about the cause, which is sheer stupidity.

And hl 2 ep 2 may come, but what if I said Diakatana 2? Oh snap!
