Endless Ocean - Swim With the Fishes Online - $30
Zelda had a game-breaking bug, but was it patched? No. They made new physical discs and offered a voluntary recall. There are other examples. I'm taking this as confirmation that Wii games cannot be patched.
That doesn't preclude it from happening in the future. I'll agree it doesn't bode well for patches, but it's no absolute indication it can't be done.

If a game could have downloadable content, seems like it could be patched.

But I'm not the one running the backend show here so I have no clue.
If a game could have downloadable content, seems like it could be patched.
Are there any games that have downloadable content?

Guitar Hero 3 has said it would.

Point is that no reason to judge the first 8 months as cold stone for anything after.

Does that mean that we'll be running the content off our SD cards? If so more devs need to take advantage of that feature.

Any game where I get to team up with Sean Connery to go scuba diving is gonna win a gold star.

But seriously, it looks good.
BUT...(like above poster said) I also recall what I personally think of as one of the worst games ever made next to E.T. for Atari. "Aquanats Holiday" for PS1. That was basically the same idea as this, so i'm pretty frightened and hope it turns out NOTHING like that.
35/40 from Famitsu. Pretty good!

Forever Blue got 10/8/9/8

I was just about to post it. A bit surprising, but good. I just hope the game lives up to those scores.
Forever Blue
- feels a little like a simulation, exploring areas gradually
- clever production sucks you in totally
- with the change of camera view, you can get lost at sea (pun?)
- you can explore the aquatic life as much as you want or you can go looking for events
- there's lots of stuff you can do, play at your own pace
- production is great, you can feel the mystery and magnificence of the ocean
- thanks to the effects of the mysterious music, the game feels very real
My Dad is gonna love this game. He's big into fish (has a giant room in the basement just devoted to them) and has a Wii. If he doesn't buy it for himself, I'm gonna get it for him for Christmas. And then? I'll get to play it on his 60" screen ;)
So did this officially get pushed back? It was set for Oct. but both IGN and 1up are now showing '08 for the US.
Nintendo's E3 press release had it listed for October, so unless it's gotten pushed back in the last week or so, it's still good.

Apparently Famitsu really likes this game.

It got a 8, 8, 9, and 10 from the magazine which roughly amounts to an 88% in terms of a rating.
Dolphin humping appears imminent!
Strell that avatar of your enhances your daily comments perfectly.

I can't wait for this game now. It looks really cool and different. On a side note I know my wife will go nuts for this game so that makes it a must buy.

I do wish that we would hear something concrete about downloadable content though.

A new screen over at GoNintendo showed a sort of underground temple.

My anticipation for this title grows a little more every time I hear about it, like a rising bread dough.

Seems like a cross between the two PSN games Aqua Vita and Sky Blue.
And both of those incidently use the motion control (and sony eye)

If I haven't said it, I want to play this.

I know what you mean. Every time I watch that vid or see something new, it seems to jump a spot on my want list. It will probably tank, but it would be cool if it was a surprise hit of the Christmas season.

I still haven't made up my mind about this one yet. No rush, I suppose.

i think the only thing that keeps me getting this day one, is that there is prob no way to communicate with the other person in online scuba diving.

I have only just gotten a Wii so I admit that my knowledge of the inner workings is slim to zip but couldn't you use a Gamecube Mic for this?

Well, assuming the game supported it, you magically had enough bandwidth, you wanted to sit right up close to your Wii, you found a way to hear the other person, and you found some way to keep the unwieldly little thing near your mouth while holding the Wii controls, I don't see why not.
Tybee that smiley was just rude. You could have just said "no" and been done with it. :p
Rude smiley omitted. Sarcasm left intact.

Surprised no one has posted the vids...

There is also an aquarium glitch that Nintendo is aware of and hopefully going to fix for the US version

In any case this game is a must have for me now. I can't wait to play it in the dark and calmly explore the ocean.
The game will have support SD Card support for allowing mp3s ala Excite Truck.
Yes.

Best idea ever: Playing nothing but "Dire Dire Docks" from Mario 64.

Imma do it.

Actually, I was going to go with a nice Monkey Island medley.

This is a good idea as well.

Man, this game looks awesome. I've always loved snorkeling, and I used to be really into fish (kept a 90 gallon aquarium). I'll be getting it for sure, as long as the reviews are halfway decent.

Hopefully it plays as well as it looks.
So this game is supposed to launch next month yet no one is listing it or offering preorders... WTF??
and we haven't seen boxart yet... despite having seen art for other nintendo games like bwii, dk, mario, smash...

i'm starting to accept that this has probably been pushed back to early 2008, assuming it'll actually get released here at all. anyone else agree?

You can play this game online too! Imagine virtua scuba diving in an endless ocean with a friend where you can talk about....NOTHING...and just follow one another around. Fun fun fun. GET MICROPHONES NINTENDO!!!! We shouldnt have to rely on xbox live chats to communicate while playing with our Wiis.

Bitching aside, ive been a certfied (PADI) diver since I was 12 and am really excited about this launch. I hope it is a deep game. Get it? deep! (like deep in that it has a lot of depth but deep also like the ocean is deep). Its a double meaning. Kind of a play on words. FUnny huh?

i look at those screens and that video and can't help by thinking how much better / more realistic this would look on a PS3 or 360.

*sigh*

Kids these days. No imagination.

Wow I know someone that would totally love this game, I checked IGN.com and it says it comes out Oct. 29th here in the US but I couldn't find anyone that started preordering just as somoene posted above, I hope it makes it for the holiday season, this would be a kickass X-Mas present.
The game has been pushed back from October release to Q1 2008.

Going head to head against Aqua now.
Of course no one knows whether Aqua is just tech demo/screensaver or if it is an actual game. There was a PS3 game by Artdink announced in 2005 called The Aquanuat's Holiday. Maybe it is the same game?

It does look amazing though.

I'm sure it's a full game, it's Artdink after all.
I trust them.
For some reason besides the amount of fishes in the sea the fishes in Aqua don't look that much better than this...
Get a bigger monitor. And the plural of "fish", is "fish".

ehhh maybe cause i watched the standard trailer, but it looked better, but not leaps and bounds better. Plus it looked liked they took a Endless Ocean trailer and just PS3'd it a lil
