I watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail and I mentioned to someone at work that I didn't like it. People around me thought I was nuts and said things like, "C'mon that is a great movie."
"You need to watch it again."
"What are you nuts?"

Yeah, it's been happening alot for me lately, what with all of the god awful garbage hollywood is producing (and is actually making money off of) these days.

My wife hated Neopleon Dynamite and her family just loved it. Our neighbors love that movie. They wear clothes with Vote Pedro, Ligers, etc.
I hated "The Big Lebowski" but everyone seemed to love that flick.
I have to say that I do love that movie.
The Incredibles. Good reviews from both critic and people around me, but to me it was just boring.
Never!!!!!!!! Incredibles? Classic. :)

I'd have to go with Jarhead. My friends seemed to like it, but I thought it was fucking terrible. A movie about nothing but details with no real attempt at a storyline whatsoever. Blech.

All of my friends love the movie Equilibrium, but I thought it was stupid as hell. Same thing with the TV show Stella. I have two friends that are huge fans of that show, but I think it's the biggest piece of fuck comedy show ever made.

I don't know if it has to do with the fact I am getting older, but I can't stand most of the shit hollywood is dumping on us. They are out of ideas. Napoleon Dynamite is one that comes to mind I couldn't get into.

10 years ago I could walk into a movie rental store on a tuesday and find a few new releases I wanted to see. Now I struggle to find 1 decent one it seems like.
I despise Grease. That and The Sound of Music are tied as my two most hated movies of all-time.
So....are there any musicals you like? Just curious.

You had to ask now the guy is going to go on for days about the broadway classic Captain EO...

I have friends that love the British version of The Office, but I can't understand what the actors are saying half the time. God, I wish they would speak just plain English! ; )

I can understand why someone would hate Monty Python- that sort of humor is an acquired taste.

The problem with the Big Lebowski is that the main character didn't do anything. He was the subject of other forces in the film; There was no dramatic heft to the story. Because of that, I found it completely uninteresting. I don't get why other people dig this movie. Its was a waste of time for me.

Oh I do like musicals, I just happen to really hate those two.

Any teenage gross out movie (Van Wilder)
Any chick flick with a bumbling moron woman lead (Miss Congeniality, Clueless)
Anything with the Wayans Bros or Rob Schneider
Batman Begins
Best of Show
Brick
Dumb and Dumber
Princess Mononoke
Waterboy

Strell, Strell, Strell...I agree with your list. I am going to have to disagree with Batman Begins though. That's where I draw the line man.

: )

Are you saying that all your friends like Rob Schneider movies? wow....that's some serious bad taste.

Just messing with you Strell. Notice my avatar and my sig? No harm was meant.

I know, I'm just joking. :)

That was partially it. It was a well made movie, but not something I liked. There's a difference.

I feel ya. The dialogue did get irritating. I still really liked it.

Wow. I came in here to mention Napoleon Dynamite, whose appeal eludes me to this day, and I find I'm the fourth guy to do so.

Fantastic. Feels good not to be alone on this, for once.

He's gotta like "Blues Brothers". That's a fucking classic.

I don't know if it was a movie everyone loved but the Dreamworks remake of "The Haunting" is just ugh. Mainly I don't like it because it's Action Horror, not real stuff.
How about a movie everyone hated or thought was crap? I like "Dude Where's My Car?".
Oh wait! Got one. I didn't dislike it as much as I thought it was HORRIBLY overrated by geeks. I am speaking of "Audition".
Strell the ONLY good thing about Deuce 2 was Eddie. Now his shit was funny. "I ain't Gay!".

I wouldn't call that a musical per se, but I do like that movie.

How can you not like a movie about two men who are on a mission from God. One of my all time favorites. :bouncy:

Grandma's Boy
Employee of the Month
(and even though its not a movie) the World of Warcraft episode of South Park

Now I'll be honest there were a few parts I chuckled at but for the most part they were the same tired jokes we've heard a million times.

Everyone disliked those 3...

Every David Lynch movie I've ever seen has been complete crap with no substance what so-ever, yet everyone who thinks they're intelligent acts like they're the greatest things in the world.

I've given him many many chances to win me over, but all of the movies I've seen were terrible.

Apply that statement to Miike Takashi after "Audition" pretty much.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Fight Club

Those two of the top of my head, but I know there are more. I wouldent say I disliked Sin City but I definetly did not like it as much as alot of people I know.
