Just beat Kingdom of Paradise today so I can trade it in tomorrow. Took about 19-20 hours for me. I kinda rushed through the last 1/3 of the game so I could get rid of it. There are really no sidequests to speak of. I also did not grind.

I'd say 19 hrs is a fairly accurate estimate- it's short as far as RPGs go.
Did you use a guide for this? Like for everything?

I think it would take longer than 8 hours to read all the text in that game let alone get it all puzzles figured out. It's a 15 hour game bare minimum. 20 is more likely.
I started and finished in on a Saturday afternoon. There were puzzles in PW? I never had any real stopping point. The only thing that may have slowed me down had I not heard about it beforehand was the note on Edgeworth's floor for the last chapter.

Also, 8 hours to read the text? PW was not some kind of 1000+ page manifesto. I speed through text usually, if you can read at faster-than-average speed, it's a really short game.

Some other games that previous estimates seem extremely slow for:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time: 8
Grandia: 30
Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits: 35
Final Fantasy X: 30
Grand Theft Auto 3: 25
Gungrave: 2
Xenosaga Ep.3: 20
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door: 25
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: 35
Shining Force III: 35

enchanted arms - 40 everything except the shining beast dungeon. could be done in 32-35.
the darkness - estimate 6 with all sidequests and all but road workers sp achievments.

you must just blast through games if those are EXTREMLY slow to you.
keep in mind this thread isnt here to list speed runs. its to give cags a general idea as to how much time they will need to invest in a game.

I looked up a few more of my completion times....

Wii:
Wii Play (to finish) - 20 minutes

Playstation:
Castlevania SotN (to finish) - 8 hours
Grandia (just to finish) - 35 hours
Suikoden (to finish/100% complete) - 20 hours/30 hours (average, 25 w/ a FAQ, 35+ w/o)

Gamecube:
Super Mario Strikers (to finish/to complete) - 5 hours/9 hours
Mario Baseball (to finish) - 2 hours

GBA:
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (to finish) - 10 hours
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (to finish) - 9 hours
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (to finish) - 14 hours

Multiplatform:
PoP: Two Thrones (to finish) - 11 hours
Tomb Raider Legend (to finish) - 12 hours

ps1
wild arms about 40 hours
Wild arms 2 about 55 hours
lunar sss about 40
lunar eb about 50

Dreamcast
Skies of arcadia about 40

Snes 40 hrs for earthbound

Didn't see this on the list:

Xbox360 - Gears of War took me between 10 and 11 hours I would say to complete

New one that took a while to figure out:

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (PSP): 37-40 Hours Main Elder Story Quests Only (note: this is only if you start off knowing how to play, and you play well)

Paper Mario: TTYD definitely does not take 35 hours to beat the normal game. I've beaten it 3 times, only took 30 hours the first time, then 24, then 21, and that was with no guide. I'd say 25/40.

For Shadow Hearts: Covenant, it took me about 25-30, idk about sidequests.

I wish more games had a playtime counter. I beat Far Cry today but I have no idea how long it took.

Just finished Ultimate Spiderman in exactly 6 hours.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 18 hours for 100%

It could probably be done faster though.
I'd make it an even 20. It took me 23, but I recognize that I take games a little slower. It seems like 20 is a nice round number for that. And that is for 100%. You could probably get through the main game in much less time (I did LOTS of backtracking for pickups to get 100%). I'd say 12/20...

How long is FEAR? just the main campaign without extraction point..

I just finished Zelda: Twilight Princess tonight at around 53 hours. Here's what I missed:
 • I had 44/60 Poe Souls
 • I didn't complete the river flying / fruit-collecting adventure
 • I didn't do the Cave of Ordeals
 • I had all but 7 or so heart containers
 • I didn't collect all the fish

I'd say it would have taken another 5-10 hours to complete everything.

Also, I recently finished Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime on the DS. My playtime came in at 33.5 hours. Here's how I did on completion:
 • I had 30+ of each monster
 • I had the maximum number (100) for 7 of the 20 monster types
 • I had all the HP upgrades except the last one
 • I had all but two items (BS-3 Slimahawk and Kafrizzle)
 • I had all the recipes
 • I rescued all 100 slimes
 • I beat the Tank Masters

I'd say it would have taken another 10 hours to complete everything.

Half-Life 2 for the PC in 10.5 hours.

This is my third time though and should be thought of as a fast run through (but by no means a speed run), 15 hours is more likely the first time around.

I also completed Bioshock for PC in about 20 hours.

Halo 3 -- around 7 hours solo on Normal
Sonic Rush Adventure -- probably 6 hours for an all-emerald completion
Metroid Prime 3 -- 13 hours for 75%

360 Version of The Bigs took me about 15 hours to get through the entire Rookie Challenge. So it would take about 25-30 to get 1000/1000 (as you have to go through the entire Rookie Challenge again with another team), I think.

I've been keeping track recently of the time I spend in each game. For older games (before September 2007), these are approximate times.

Excite Truck - Approximately 10 hours to the end of the 'Normal' mode
Gears of War - Approximately 10 hours solo medium campain, 12 hours coop insane campain
Half Life 2 - Approximately 20 hours
Heavenly Sword - 7.5 hours normal mode
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (360) - Approximately 10 hours
New Super Mario Bros - Approximately 10 hours
Pokemon Pearl - 70 hours to being able to easily farm Elite Four
Portal - 4 hours, no advanced maps
Puzzle Quest - Approximately 50 hours
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - 12 hours normal mode
Resistance: Fall of Man - Approximately 13.5 hours coop medium difficulty

I created an Access Database that tracks time spent in each game and hardware and software purchases. From this, it will output Sum of Hours by game and platform. I'm still trying to add more features.

If anyone is curious about the database, PM me, I'll send it to you, you can edit the fields as you see fit.

Just finished Dragon Warrior VII (PS1). Took me 110 hours to finish, doing 90% of the sidequests, getting special weapons etc. I would imagine getting everything would have taken 120 hours and doing the bare minimum would get you by at around 90 hours.

Bioshock on Hard took about 20-25 hours with 49/50 achievements.

Normal playthrough w/o achievement hunting 10-15 hours, but not "rushing".

Wii
Super Mario Galaxy- 10 hours for the regular game. About 26 to get all the everything.

Snes
Earthbound- 20 hours, tops
Chrono Trigger- 13 hours

PS3
Heavenly Sword- 5-6 Hours
F.E.A.R.- 11 hours
