I'm not sure how you can say it's just like every other shooter? I've played Super Stardust HD, Geometry Wars, and others, and it's nothing like those others. Playing ES like it is a normal shooter gets you nowhere fast.
 
Bought it for 10 a couple days ago. As a fan of Rez, and someone who thinks GW is a little too frustrating, I thought it was absolutely worth it.
 
This is a beautiful game... highly recommended, great fun yet challenging.

Pick it up while its still half off!
 
I'm like totally hooked. I've been playing for hours since I got it. Already got my money's worth back.

Recommeded to all at this price ($5), while it lasts.
 
i just got it after the 4.99 thingie. Only made it up to level 3 so far :(
I think my max score for level 1 is only around like 300 or something. How the crap do you get 1000 lol. Hard for me to get the chainers to hit right. Is there a faster way to pick up the points? I take too long trying to get the group of points on one side after a chain, that the points on the other side are gone by the time I get there...

Are you shooting while collecting points? If so, you move much faster when you're not shooting. You're not going to every point that's dropped, so you have to just go for as many as you can get.

i've got a question for the experts on here
i was trying to unlock one of the extras, the one that says "beat the 3, level 4 porcos in normal or single play"
i killed the three circle-things that shoot the bird-type things out at you, but it didnt unlock it, what did i miss?

btw, its funny to try to talk about this game b/c everything is so abstract
 
The Porcos are the Red Baron-ish planes that shoot at you. You'll have to destroy both suns at the beginning to get the three Porcos to come out.
