I was just thinking about how CAG has changed since I joined up, and wanted to pose the question to the masses.

What do you think of how CAG has evolved since its inception? Is there anything you would have liked to have seen done differently, or has everything been positive for you?

I've always been happy with the information that I can glean from this website. If I have had a question as to where to find the best deal on a game or where the hot sale is, there has always been a great trove on information to browse here. The trade-in values tool also allows me to see who is giving what for a particular game, and that has also been something I have taken advantage of, no doubt.

As far as the overall feeling of the site, it certainly has a more corporate feel to it now. I can't help but notice that the banner ads and such are all Gamestop now. It is certainly a change from the Ben Heck days of old. Where CAG used to have an underground feel to it, I really see it as more of a place where the corporate powers-that-be see what you're up to and what you're into.

The reviews are well done, and they are certainly insightful. The only thing I would take out of them is the whole 'pay this much' aspect.

Overall, CAG has certainly changed in the time that I have been a member, and I'd say it has certainly grown. While I am somewhat bummed that the corporate dollar has taken hold, the basic barebones of the site have not changed, and that will keep me coming back.

I'm just happy CheapyD hasn't sold the site to Internet Brands or anyone like that, but I agree that the underground look was better. However, I understand that Cheapy needs to make a living. One thing I still miss are the deals that used to get posted on the home page along with allowing anonymous comments. One thing I think we need is LESS moderation from the moderators. Some are turning me off with their condescending tone and deletion of posts.

:applause:

Talking about certain things leads to posts being deleted as if they never existed, which is a far cry from how it was before. Although I would much rather that the 'offending' posts disappear rather than receive a temp/perm ban for whatever is now considered 'offensive'.

As for the corporate feel of CAG, I too kind of think that the arrival of some corporate representatives has lessened some of the deals at some stores and led to CAG becoming more 'mainstream' than it was prior.

Unfortunately with more eyes prying into deals and glitches and such equals less deals for those who might want them.

I agree with the second statement - there's more people here than ever before it seems. However, not sure I agree with the first. Once this console generation stretches out more, we'll see more and more deals, as it tends to cycle like this. Stores will also have to clearance old stock out to make room for new stock. They can't keep stuff forever - there's inventory costs & opportunity costs with doing so.
