Anyone have an experience(positive or negavite) with sending in a PS3 for repair through Sony?
My PS3 stopped reading discs a while back and it sucks that I have to send it in to Sony for repair. They charge $162 to repair the damn thing. I have a 60GB PS3 and have my entire library of PS2 games.
I checked with some local shops and one will charge me $129 and the other $110 to replace the lens. They will give me a 60 day warranty, but I feel weary of doing it.
I already emailed Sony and got the standard response that it is not their fault it wont read discs. This all happened after I updated to Firmware 3.0
Anyone know if Sony offers a guarantee after they repair a PS3? Any opinions or experiences would be much appreciated.
