Quoted from HotUKDeals

Wii at full price = £179.00. Take 30% off with XX057 code = £125.30.
Take of the extra VAT discount of £2.67 = £122.63.
P&P is £3.95 so that takes the final total to £126.58 for non Quidco people.

Quidco will track at 8% so that's an additional £9.81 back in a few months, bringing it to an overall final total £116.77
Now, I had a couple of problems paying for the item, but what do you expect from a Littlewoods company? However everything seems to have come through nicely now.

Note that this is for new customers only.

Oh yeah, you'll be charged the £179.14 and then refunded the £52.56 within two weeks because Littlewoods are arsey with discount schemes.
Remember that time when the Wii was any good?

Me neither.
i have to disagree

look deep among tons of casual shit and you will find a couple of dozens od real gems, nice games and even "milestones" (ok mario galaxy, and more recently Little King's Story... read the raving reviews!!!)

unfortunately i dont own a wii (but i'm a working man too so would be pretty pointless)

I've bought one since Ninty are so not going to drop the price that low ever. Shouldn't really but at that price I couldn't say no.

For all intents and purposes the Wii's pretty much this generation's PS2. I'll be getting those niche good games on the cheap while ignoring the mire of crap infesting the market, but my 360's still going to be the main player for gaming in my house.

Wonderful, credit rejected again. The code has stopped working with electricals however "excluedes electricals" is not in the T&Cs anywhere so you can phone up and override it.

EDIT: Finally went through and they cut out the P&P charge woo.

It really isn't.

The PS2 had a vast number of AAA titles over a variety of genres. The Wii has the bad side of the PS2 (market leader in shovelware) but not the good side.

when you are the "de facto" market leader, you can expect to deal with LOTS of shovelware... everybody wants a piece of the cake.
but amidst garbage rare and precious gems rise and shine (PS2 has still nowadays a WONDERFUL game library...)

this said, good good deal my EXU friend... at that price (and with P&P off too) that was a MUST BUY

Mmhm. I'm gonna have to have a word with the bank but I reckon it's a simple spending limit to stop me going overboard. Either way it's all sorted.

Console elitism is stupid. I prefer my 360 and can explain and back up my reasoning for not owning or wanting a PS3 at this time but that doesn't mean I hate that console.
Same is true for the Wii, I'll agree that it's got sod all good on it right now for my taste but there are still games on it I want to play and at the end of the day, gaming is what it all comes down to.

I am concerned about the Wii's future for "proper" games though. Madworld hasn't sold and watch people not buy The Conduit.

I'm not saying every PS2 game was good, it had more than it's fair share of shite, but it always had a great game to play. The Wii has not always had a good game to play.

Mmhm. Fortunately the loss of steam in Japan may cause Ninty to seek out some quality.
Just a shame we're unlikely to see it soon because they never forgave Europe for buying the Megadrive.

Just wanted to point out that the T&C of that voucher exclude electricals (such as Wii and PS3).
They may have updated the terms after it was found at hotdeals.

As I understand it they will deduct the full amount and refund the discount later on valid items.

Dodgy dealings from a littlewoods front.

Yeah, I had a look and all deals made before they updated the T&C's must be honoured. However now they have been and so this deal is KAPUT.

The code is still good for anything non-electrical though.

Right so now I'm not getting a Wii because despite making the order before the updated T&Cs, Additions cancelled it for "security reasons" and refuse to reinstate it, insisting that I would have to re-order now the discount doesn't work.

This has happened to a few people, and some have even had their money taken, orders delivered and then the repayment refused, despite ordering when the deal was good.

I promptly cancelled my account with them and forwarded it to Consumer Direct and Trading Standards. Might give BBC Watchdog a ring too.

I have had the same problem Exu above had. It's so bloody annoying, and to make things worse, they said that they sent a letter to me stating the details (bloody backward of them), however I have not received a letter nor are they willing to let me speak to their finance department to find out the issue. STAY AWAY from this company.

Well they've emailed me after the rather nasty letter I sent last night saying they can cancel the account (as requested by me in the phone call) or take the original order with discount code.

I've asked them to email me back so I can give them a full run-down of what they've done wrong and why, and I'll let you know where this leads, I need to write them a letter of complaint to back up my Trading Standards inquiry anyway.
