I'm looking for another external HD and yes I searched the forums first, I'm looking for between a 100GB and a 200GB external, and I wanted to know what the cheapest deal is online? I'm looking to spend around $50 or less.

This is funny cause I just purchased the Western Digital 160GB My book for $70 after tax with in store pick up at Best Buy. I know it's more than you're looking to pay but I looked it up everywhere else and noone has it for cheaper than $100 so I thought I got a good deal. If someone else has a better one for a better price, I would definitely cancel my order.

Everywhere! They keep dropping in price and ramping up the gigs. I think were in a price war fellas, just like Intel and AMD is. It's time to load up. I just got another 500 GB for $120 the other day.

Best Buy two weeks ago. It was a sale price, plus 12% off for Reward Zone members with a coupon. I need the storage space for when I move to Japan in July and only have my new laptop to survive off of.

id definetly suggest getting a wd harddrive. ive got one and theyre awesome. i also recently found out how easy it is to make one yourself after having bout a harddrive case to extract data from an old drive of mine that quit working. either way is a good way to go.

I'm a fan of Western Digital and Seagate drives. Been looking to get a cheap external drive myself.

Check Buy.com every week, as they usually have a couple externals on sale almost all the time.

I also list these in my weekly threads here for Target, Circuit City & Best Buy.

See the top section of each store in the DVD Deals forum here.

Fry's or Fry's.com (free shipping) has a 160 GB for $49.99 (Seagate 160GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - ST3160203U2-RK ).

Go Wings, Pistons, & Suns!!

I understand the need for a lot of storage but be careful, larger hard drive sizes mean increased compression of the tracks or whatever (i forgot what they're called right now) of the spinning platters which also equals more of a chance to loose your data and more chance of a hard drive failure. IMO - stay at the size you're looking for (100 - 200GB); if possible and affordable (but I don't think so) try to look for an external case that supports RAID and buy multiple lower size hds and RAID will add them up to one large (400GB?) hard drive.

Good luck and happy shopping.
