Finally picked up an external HDD for my PS4. (WD 4 TB passport) since this is powered through the USB port, what's everyone doing for powering down their PS4? I typically put the PS4 into rest mode, so do I leave the the USB ports always powered? Prob not the most ideal but I read where some people got had gottened error messages about the drive was not powered down correctly doing different options. I figured I could safely disconnect the HDD before rest mode, but then game updates won't install I would assume. Thanks
 
I think I got it squared away. Set my USB ports to off when the PS4 goes into sleep mode. Went onto PSN on my browser and told it to download a game, which it did. When I woke up the PS4 I did not get any HDD disconnected improperly messages.
