Eye of Judgement Discussion Thread

I actually saw a copy (and only one copy) of EOJ behind the counter of GS today during lunch. I think they finally got it in sometime earlier this week.

No boosters or decks, though.

I don't think this game got distributed very much here. Maybe it's the larger, unusual packaging.
I've played about 10 games so far and the PS3 keeps beating me. :(

I suck.
Same happened to me, I got better by the end of the second day though. Soon as you get familiar with the rules it's a lot more fun.

Try playing on the lower difficulties as you get used to the game, then slowly ramp up.

If it keeps beating you, there may be nuances of strategy you're missing out on since you're preoccupied just learning the basics.

Also stick with the starter deck, unchanged, and play against the computer with a starter deck as well. Then look how it uses its cards against you, because you're playing with the same deck you can use the same tactics against it later.

ccgarmory has booster boxes back in stock. A little more expensive now @ $93+shipping. With their cheapest shipping, it'd be about $104 to me.

I finally saw copies of the game/eye bundle @ my local wal-mart today. They just got 'em in. I should've looked for the cards, but didn't have time. Maybe later.

Still waiting for my copy of EOJ to come in the mail. Hopefully by tomorrow.

Damn, CCGarmory only has two boxes left. Unfortunately ive got a car payment this week, so I really dont need to be spending $105 on cards...

God, i hate christmas season.

Anybody knows if the packaging/UPC code on the individually sold booster packs is the same as on the ones sold in boxes? If it is, then I would try to get some booster packs from b&m stores and smply return them once I get the boxes from coolstuffinc...

"pre-loved" as in opened? $120 shipped and I'd think about it ;)

I just got this game, and I'm loving it so far.

Add my PS3 name (as I just got a PS3 as well) if you're up for a game.

Rec'd my order from FV today. Postmark was 11/10, and it was shipped in a sturdy box via USPS Priority. Can't wait to try it out, but now I've got SMG to play too. :p

Well I finally found a local comic shop that boosters and theme decks. Pick up the last three boosters. It seems they got a two or three booster boxes in today and sold all out. Was actually looking to get rid of the game, might get back into it once my PS3 comes back.

I only briefly ran through one battle vs comp, but the game definitely has some strategy to it from the first turn. Pretty fun and a keeper for me. Now I just need more time to play it. :p

My Comic Shop finally got my box in today! Now to get out there and pick it up, or have a friend who works next door to them pick it up. =)

What wattage light bulb do you have in your game room to get the game working fine? think mine are too dim, and can only play it during daytime.
Did a quick search and found it (by luck):

lol thank god for goolge. thanks this is cool. still wish i had the game right now but i´m in no hurry since the game will have a ton of support down the line anyway with expansions and upgrades .

Well, picked up 3 booster packs today for $3.60 each, and got 1 ultra-rare card. Probably gonna sell it on ebay since it goes for about $30. My reasoning is that with that money, I can go and buy 7-9 more boosters >_>

Got my first Phantom Card ( Forest ) today when I picked up the last 5 packs at target. 60.0% complete on the collection now.

just got this today after about a few months of really wanting it. I'll be picking up booster possibly over the weekend.

Oddly this is my first physical copy of a PS3 game that I've owned... Everything else on the system has been either a rental (only ninja gaiden) or download (too many downloads to count).
The computer sure is tough.
yeah, I still make dumbass mistakes. I remember everything int he game, but I always forget about the field and monster elements which gets me killed 50% of the time >_

My roomate dared me to play it on expert, and I almost won. I'm sure it was a fluke though.

I really need to find more time to play this game. I'm just too lazy to set up the camera and I haven't played online yet, because I reason that online people are better than the computer, and I can't beat the computer sometimes. Also, my 360 is coming in soon so that leaves me with even less time.

Edit: Oh yeah, at least you didn't cause yourself to lose lol. Such as placing a monster in the wrong field or attacking your own guys. I didn't know cards that can attack in more than one direction could do friendly fire when I first played.

Edit2: Rolento, if you ever want to play online, let me know. I'd be up for it since it seems we're about the same level in this game.

Actually, Suko. The people online are human, and are prone to mistakes and bad planning. I really do recommend playing online, if you find someone of the same or lower rank than you, it should be fine.

The computer is excellent at these kind of perfect information games. Ones where it just needs to plot out a bunch of possible moves with what it has and choose the best result. It's the same AI they use in chess despite the addition of special card abilities.

I'm up for it... maybe this weekend... I'll add you on my PS3.

as for online, I played one last night and played in a room set as "Training" (also, they have one set for "Beginnier" which helps). I almost won the game, but placed my minion on th wrong field making it die... >_<

anyone know what large chains carry the cards?

So I just played my first online match. It was against a 34-27 guy. All the cards he summoned had perfect dodge....and I couldn't touch them. Luckily, I barely won on the 20th turn. Also, I gained 4 honor. Is that considered little?

nice. I have yet to win an online match out for the 2 I played... today I picke dup 2 boosters and the fire deck. so far I really do not like wood cards, but love fire, then earth, then water, then biolith, and then barely wood.

My favorite so far is fire as well. I think I've picked up 7 booster packs so far. They are funded by the 10% Gamestop coupon + credit & the ultra rare card I sold of $30. Honestly, it's really hard to hold back buying boosters. I want to keep buying and buying them. So far I'm doing a excellent job of holding back. Buying a 360 and looking at my backlog pile probably helps control the urge too.

Off topic but can't wait to play the 360 when it comes in!

I wont be getting the game until christmas, but I went ahead and bought 2 of the 5 theme decks today. Gonna have the gf see if they carry the boosters at her work tomorrow.

Yeah, the CPU is pretty unflinching, even on easy. So far, I can't beat it.

I'm also using more of a fire-based deck right now, but I have all the starter decks, so I'll be trying them all eventually.

How many booster boxes would I need to buy to guarantee I get all the cards? How many of each individual card is one allowed to use in game? Yu-Gi-Oh! allows up to three of the same card for example in a deck if there aren't any additional restrictions on the card in question. I haven't played EoJ yet so I don't know the rules. I'd like to get a suitcase for EoJ if possible. If you're not familiar with the term suitcase in CCGs it refers to owning the max playable limit of every card in the game.

What's the cheapest place to buy booster boxes? CCG Armory has them for $104.95. I think they used to sell them for less than that though. It seems ToyWiz hiked their prices up by about $50 on the boxes. I think they used to sell them for around $100.

I was having a lot of problems with the camera due to lighting. I got me a lamp called "OTT-LITE TrueColor 13W Clip Lamp", which I can clip onto the side of my playing table, and my problems have gone away. The lamp is positioned low enough so that the light is not shining into my eyes and it provides a consistent level and unifom distribution of light for the camera. There is some weirdness with 50 hz setting, but it works great on 60 Hz automatic. I thought I'd let others know.

I just got Eye of Judgment for Christmas. I may not play it until tomorrow since I'll probably play with my Wii (just got it for Christmas too). I haven't bought any card packs, but I will tomorrow.
