Fable developer apologizes for broken promises!
What was it that was promised early, and didnt make it?
dozens, if not hundreds of features

a few:
trees would grow in real time
you would actively compete with other heros
children would do their hair like yours
dragons
multiplayer (this one really bugs me)

But, as nathan_the_rock said, if the story stayed the same it still wouldn't have been that good.

Fable is OK. It's not fantastic. The gameplay is fun but the story is so weak I really have no intention of playing it any time soon. I have all the Final Fantasy games (excluding X, the only one I beat (I loved it, and I cried... just like the rest of you god dammit!)), I've got Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Substance, and Snake Eater (coming November), I've got all the Syphon Filter games.... and honestly Fable is at the bottom of the list.

It's sad, isn't it. Oh well, I guess thats just what happens when the game just doesn't live up to expectations.

I have to admit the story was pretty weak, I think that and the length was a rather big dissapointment. I felt the game was way too easy to boot. I rarely died except in the end, where I wasn't able to go back to purchase certain items for the final battle.

But I would be lieing to myself to say I didn't enjoy the game, It was *almost* a 9 for me.

hey i have a question about that obidient axe thing or wht ever the one that the old ghost tells u were it is were is it actully because i dont want to give my monny to the cheap wife so i ust want to no were it is

I just got this last week. I punched the guy who was cheating on his wife in the town in the beginning of the story and got a 5 minute lecture on how I'm a bad person and how I'm going to be evil for the rest of my life from some dopey "security guard". I found it surprising that this nice shire-town was really a police state.

I was hoping that a semblance of story would keep me interested, but after reading this old thread, I'm not so sure that'll happen.
