Thanks Opterasis for the info

God knows how limited this will be - but it's nice that you are getting more than a standard making of DVD.
They had me at vault boy bobblehead. tho $70 is still expensive.
Same here, but I am going to go from LE on GTA IV to the LE Fallout 3. The Fallout has some cooler things.
I likes the 1st game on XBOX. Never play the 2nd. I look forward this game too but i don't feel like drop $60 for it. I'll get it for $30 or less someday!!!
The one on Xbox is not a Fallout game. At all.

I already had the CE preordered at GS. Ive got my wife on the case right now to see if they received these items yet - we'll see how it goes. I need these things, asap. hahaha

edit : Confirmed - wife picked up the package, I havent seen it yet personally.
What? So EB/GS is already giving out the pre-order bonus?
Like I said, my wife just walked into the store, and walked out of the store with this cd/poster deal, on a preorder that I made a month ago.

I see, I thought you meant the lunchbox with all of the goodies...but I'm assuming that the game will be inside the lunchbox then.

Right. After missing out on the Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword preorder bonus (stylus), there was no way I was going to leave this one to chance. Hence making her pick it up in asap fashion.

I can't comment on the awesomeness of this bonus, however.

OP updated with this new info

I called around my local GS's and none of them knew what I was talkign about - go figure?

EDIT: I found a local GS that has them in - I will do my best to grab one before the night is over!

I just picked up the CD/poster set at my local GS. It comes in a DVD case, with the goodies inside. And FYI, I preordered the game about a month ago. So, yes, pre-existing pre-orders are eligible to pick up the CD/poster set; just ask the clerk about it.

The lunchbox (and the bobblehead, making of DVD, and artbook) is not a pre-order bonus; it's part of a separate Collector's Edition (which will be shipped with the game), that you have to pay an extra $20 for. The CD/poster set is a pre-order bonus, Gamestop-exclusive, and anyone who pre-orders (or has already pre-ordered) either the regular or Collector's Edition should receive it when they pre-order (while supplies last, I assume).
Wait, why is this game a big deal? I want to buy it, but...
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are absolute masterworks of the PC game genre. People have been waiting around 10 years for Fallout 3.

Bethesda Softworks, who is making Fallout 3, recently made Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, which is also much-loved, so you have some hot developers on the property.

Fallout is an RPG in a post-apocalyptic future. Picture the Mad Max movies, but with mutations.

That's why it's a big deal.

So only gamestop gets the poster and soundtrack thinger? I'd rather get it from amazon, but the poster is tempting..

I like the cd, but wasn't impressed by the poster (it is folded up into a small rectangle inside the dvd case, if that helps your decision).

I preordered the CE last Friday, not knowing about this cd/poster bonus, so it was a pleasant suprise when I was handed one.

Yup, Gamestop-exclusive.

Did anyone order the Collectors Edition at Gamestop?

I got mine there, but the guy was kind of confused at first, so I want to make sure he did in fact get the right thing.

The number on my recepit is: 200493

thanks!

The number on my reciept was 200493 as well - I assume this is for the 360?

Any other pre-order deals out there? Not too interested in the soundtrack and poster. I was hoping for a bonus Fallout 1 or 2 disc (lost my Fallout 2 disc years ago). Cool lunch box, but I'll go with the bare bones PC edition.

Yeah it is, thanks!

Nope.

Not possible, I'm afraid. Bethesda doesn't own the rights to 1 or 2.

That's lame that Gamestop gets the exclusive soundtrack and poster. *Sigh* Now I have to cancel my Amazon pre-order and switch over to the Devil.
That's lame that Gamestop gets the exclusive soundtrack and poster. *Sigh* Now I have to cancel my Amazon pre-order and switch over to the Devil.
I think I may have to do the same. Tax seems worth it for the random extras.

Both items come in a single dvd size case. the poster is folded up into a little square - I haven't listened to the cd yet. Not that impressive but I can't say no to anything fallout to be perfectly frank
Yup, Gamestop-exclusive.
so if you order this on-line from GS, do you get the poster and cd too? Do they mail you the cd and poster or you can pick them up at a B&M GS store?

The MGS 4 dvd was mailed...

Are there any pictures of the poster floating around? I'm not interested enough in the cd to preorder at GS, but might be for the poster.

I was hopping for the rectangular lunch box with the curved top where the thermos would go. I figured it would have been a more classic looking lunch box not some cheap square tin and the retarded bobble head is just ridiculous.

im a bit disappointed with the collection, no hat, shirt or soundtrack.

i like the bonus preorder soundtrack though.

Umm a square tin is very 50's so whats not classic? Are you asking for a coal miner lunch box? Thats just silly, and you want a hat, shirt and sound track.......my aren't we spoiled...
Any other pre-order deals out there?
If you preorder at Circuit City you get a free mini strategy guide when you pick up the game. I went for the soundtrack and poster myself. Does anyone know if 270229 is the right number for the PS3 collectors edition? I preordered it today and I didn't realize till I got home that the guy didn't ask me what system I wanted it for.

If you're disappointed by this collector's edition, man, you'd love the Ubisoft collector's edition games. Double Agent had a freaking slip cover over a regular 360 case, and a worthless extra DVD. I'm calling Fallout one of the best collector's editions I've seen since Bioshock.

As for platform - Crud! I still don't know what I should get it on. I want to get it for the 360 just because it has a better track record for games running better on it (plus love the controller), but I get scared whenever I want to play something on it for fear of the damn thing blowing up.

Decisions, decisions..

True, GTA IV, Bioshock, and Fallout 3 have taken CE Edition games to the next level.

Does GS charge tax on preorders? I have only preordered one game in the past from them (2 with MGS) and they didnt charge me tax, mistake?

I like apparel and soundtracks vs figurines or making of dvds and I wasn't implying it had to have everything but as it is the tin is cheap looking, the figurine is retarded and the making of dvd is a waste in my opinion and not worth the $20 extra and overall a rather dull and unispired collectors edition.

I'm going to preorder the game for the soundtrack as it has two tracks by inon zur and that I don't want to set the world on fire track from one of the early trailers.

gta had excellent pack ins, but this and bioshock were not exciting and you also forget halo 3 legendary as apart of that group upping the ante.

I had a discussion over the timelines of the coal miner box and the tin cans are indeed very much 50's esque, I was born 30 years later, I couldn't give a damn about 50's trivia and I'd still prefer a coal miner box and a more fleshed out soundtrack.

and the double agent ce sounds similar the eas most wanted ce, the bonus cars wern't even avilable in all modes.

Then I suppose you shouldn't buy the special edition ... one more on the market for those of us that actually think it kicks ass. Guess not everyone wants an extra large, one size fits all gaming shirt ...

you also forget halo 3 legendary as apart of that group upping the ante.
Man, this shit was $130, so you can hardly even compare it to a $70/80 edition.
Guess not everyone wants an extra large, one size fits all gaming shirt ...
I lol'd.

etcrane, not my fault your amused by stupid shit like bobble heads and crappy figurines.

gta was $90, maybe you can't add coffeeEdge, or your mom bought gta ce for you.

so what if halo legendary was a $130 it was of much better quality then this cheap tin case and lame bobble head. same goes for bioshock, cheap action figure delivered broken and a total waste of space and the soundtrack some moby asscrasticness cause thats what all of us voted for when we selected soundtrack some peace loving balder croaking in place of an actual soundtrack.

working designs had the best collections as a standard anyhow, your all giddy over this retard package. you people preordering this game anyway like its going to be good is a pathetic, bethesda can't even keep there own franchises alive yet there hell bent on trashing others.

Wait ... wait ... so you come into a thread dedicated to the *ahem* special edition of a game that is a follow up to two of the most highly regarded PC games of all time ... and then after crapping on the special edition of the game, you proceed to crap on the game itself ... hmm, last time I checked this was a thread about a deal ... on a special edition ... not your personal bobblehead vendetta thread or I hate Bethesda because thread ... hell, at least we get a sequel that it seems like the bethesda team really cares about ... just a thought

your all 100% slobber fest over this stupid pack, all I did was express disappointment with it and was attacked. Reading this puke page after page with your love fest for a 2nd rate developers trashing of a great franchise is disgusting, they have never delivered a quality ce either.
Does GS charge tax on preorders? I have only preordered one game in the past from them (2 with MGS) and they didnt charge me tax, mistake?
If your just paying for the game yes they charge tax [unless you only leave a deposit ie. $10 which of course goes towards the purchase of the game later].

If your doing trade-ins the value of the games goes towards the pre-tax value of items they sell. For an example lets say your state tax is 10%.

$59.99 Game
Paying with Cash

59.99 + 6.00 tax = 65.99

Same $59.99 Game
Paying with 1 Trade in of $10 and the rest in cash
59.99 - $10 = $49.99 + $5.00 Tax = 54.99
Does GS charge tax on preorders? I have only preordered one game in the past from them (2 with MGS) and they didnt charge me tax, mistake?
Yeah...charging tax is the law, so, pre-ordering doesn't change that. MGS must have been a mistake of some kind.
