Fallout 3 to Fallout 3 GOTY

So I've had Fallout 3 almost since the day it launched. I just picked up the GOTY edition for cheap. Was simply wondering if I can install the contents of the GOTY edition over the regular edition and be done with it. Such as not entering new keycodes and such?

Also guys I want a simple yes or no, even an explanation of why it won't let me. I don't want a 3rd degree and people trying to guess why I'd want to do this.

If you mean buy the game, download all the packs onto your hard drive and then sell it again...

Then yes, you can. That's exactly what I did.
