Fellow CAGers!

If you're like me you collect or enjoy purchasing certain strategy books/guides.

Well, Bethesda is printing a limited run survival guide for Fallout 4. It is a hardcover and everything. Looks neat. I'm getting one.

THIS GUIDE IS 400+ PAGES

Original price is $40

On sale via Amazon for $24.11 (Prime eligible)

Releases same day as game

Polygon story

Update:

Looks like it comes with a free mobile e-guide that will be updated whenever the game gets new content or if it gets patched. Also seeing the guide includes "exclusive" content not found in the game.

There is also an Art of Fallout Guide.  It is $35.

Once reseller scum get wind of this it will be sold out, likely so they can package it with their sold out Pipboy's.

Then, when they realize the market isn't 100% there, they will cancel their orders and it will become available again.

Over time, all copies will eventually be snagged and you will see the price inflate on eBay.

Certain guides become collectible, not many do, but certain ones eventually fetch a high price. I know this because I collect guides alongside some of my games.

Side note -

Can we make a "reseller scum" mascot? Who here is an artist?

There's plenty of them here on CAG although they don't want to admit it. Like those who buy buy multiple copies of a game to flip to other stores. They don't consider it reselling but it's is the same concept. CAG went from Cheap Ass Gamer to Cheap Ass Reseller.

Personally a fan of 1UP box cause I'm a sucker for t-shirts, which is why i hate Loot Crate months that don't have a t-shirt. I definitely need to check out Nerd Block then if they have a guaranteed shirt.
They typically send a shirt from ShirtPunch, which is pretty cool daily shirt site. I only did Arcade Block for a couple of months, but I enjoyed it and will be signing back up very soon for a multiple month plan. I the shirts they send out of a much higher quality too, the ones I have gotten from Loot Crate are thin and usually shrink really bad.

How most people are now all about the $$. If only they was into workout more they get a job or get a 2nd one if there that in love with $$. You make more at a job then sitting on pc and mobile nonstop looking to make a few bucks. Hell do swagbucks if you wanna be lazy and make peanuts there.

There's something to be said about earning money without having a boss or schedule though.

I make a decent chunk of change at my job (financial accounting 15 years running), but being a father of 2 and supporting a household I always like to have extra income coming in. So reselling or buying collectors items and holding them and then selling them later (6mos or a year) is almost a way for me to have some emergency funds when I need them. I had 2 skyrim collectors books sold them around 65-80 a piece when I decided to sell them. I pre-ordered 5 of these because fallout is uber popular and so if that makes me in love with money so be it, but i see it as a way to take my family out to theme parks, dinners and other extra curricular without losing to much of the hard earned dough that goes towards bills and standard living items food, clothes, etc from my 9-5.

Not to mention all the "buy this game at BB and trade for $$ at gamestop" threads....are exactly the same as reselling except more time consuming, those pip boy editions selling at 2-3 times msrp, that's 15 minutes of work for someone - preorder, print shipping label, mail -= $$$$

I think the big difference between buying 5 copies of Titanfall (example) and buying 5 copies of the Fallout 4 CE is there is an insane abundance of Titanfall copies. Everyone can get a copy and nobody is getting screwed, unlike the latter.

Why would anyone buy 5 copies of Titanfall? Pretty sure even as cheap as the game is, you'd lose money on trying resell or trade those in.

It was an example, as mentioned in the comment. Switch Titanfall with "Witcher 3" and you'll get the point.

Usually in those situations, the retailers accepting the trade in are the ones getting screwed lol. Bunch of people traded in Lego Jurassic World they got from BestBuy for $30 a few days ago to Gamestop for $55, I can see Gamestop losing their ass in this deal lol. But don't worry, these retailers will eventually pass those losses onto the customers.
