I was in my local EB today and had a discussion with one of my favortie employee's there. He's got the word passed down to him that a single player Halo 2 demo will be available August 23. The guy has been credible enough in the past but it wouldn't hurt for someone to check. Supposedly there's word going around on fansites hinting at this so google it out to whatever you can. I tried August 23 Halo 2 and didn't come up with anything but I'm sure a fanboy or two in here has heard something on this.

go to ilovebees.com and you have some type of answer. Also check Halo 2 board at www.gamefaqs.com where they found out the the OXM magazine has just hinted that it will have new info and screenshot about Halo2 and others. That is it. He lost his credibility.

Uuumm, advertisement actually says august 24, but most people might get that early.

The ilovebess.com comes from the end of the Halo 2 trailer that is being shown at some movie theater. It basically acts like an advertisement, but they do it in some creepy matter. They also have some incerpt from lines for Halo2 I believe.

Give or take...the employee said it would be in an OXM. I'm sure there's more places than just one about the speculation.
 
I heard that OXM would have some sort of demo for it. If they had an online multiplayer demo for Halo 2, it would be the best selling magazine issue for OXM.

You'd be surprised. I'll be the first to admit that I decided to get an Xbox mainly because of the WWF Raw preview out of Game Informer. If it were only that good (though I still made the right decision I love my box)
 
if i get that issue on the 24th with the halo demo i will cream my pants.... i can not begin to describe how bad i want that game!

o man when i saw the preview for that game...it was the only reason i wanted an x at the time.....it looked amazing (still does)
 
...an off the shelf OXM goes for $10...add that onto the nearly $60 I'll be spending 2 months later for the game and I'm back a bit of money. If it's got a demo then it'll be hard as hell to find on shelves, but if it's single player do you really want to ruin the opening suprise of playing the game all night long on the 11th?

Its still going to be the most popular OXM to date because of all the hype.

I agree, if they do include a playable demo of Halo 2 in the August 24 issue then it will be the best selling issue of OXM ever, atleast until they have a playable Halo 3 demo. :)

Makes me sad that this has to be pointed out... but what's got to be done has got to be done. Frankie jumped into a thread on Bungie.net's Underground Forum to flatly deny that Halo 2, or a demo for Halo 2, or anything REMOTELY RELATED TO PLAYABLE CODE will be released on August 24.

Halo 2 comes out on Nov. 9th or Nov. 11th for the UK. It does NOT come out on Aug 24th. You know what does come out on Aug. 24th? Some OXM special which does NOT, and I repeat does NOT have a Halo 2 demo on it.

It doesn't get any plainer than that, folks. Go back to figuring out the ilovebees puzzle... but leave a playable Halo 2 out of it. (This was the last news post of yesterday's news day... but apparently Count Zero was a bit too circumspect in his wording; I've received 3 separate emails from folks who didn't notice that it was there at the top of the news page.
