Family Guy detailed

Fans of Seth McFarlane's Family Guy cartoon had mixed reactions when hearing about 2K Games making a game based on the show. When any license makes the leap to gaming, the interactive result can be a shell of what it was derived from.
The debate will no doubt linger on with the announcement of the first details of Family Guy, which is scheduled for release this fall on current-gen consoles.
Gamers will be able to switch back and forth between three characters: bumbling patriarch Peter Griffin, matricidal maniac Stewie, and martini-swigging canine Brian. Each playable character will have its own storyline--Peter is out to stop Mr. Belvedere from taking over the world, Stewie goes up against his archenemy Bertram, and Brian tries to escape his wrongful imprisonment.
Family Guy is loaded with tangential joke after joke that pokes fun at pop culture, and the 2K title will be no different, but in the game the jokes will be interactive. Gameplay is described by 2K Games as a combination of "combat, stealth, and puzzle-solving gameplay" throughout familiar locations in the show's setting of Quahog, Rhode Island.
Family Guy has not yet been priced or rated. Look for more details during GameSpot's E3 coverage. For more information on the Family Guy TV show, head over to TV.com.
Sounds like it might be like Futurama
or MDK2. I could see Peter for combat, Brian for Stealth, and Stewie for heavy-puzzle solver.

I pray for this to be true (and done sucessfully ala MDK2)

And Futurama was essentially a platformer with a Futurama tag stuck to it.

I'm a huge fan of Family Guy (well, at least pre-canceled FG, their efforts since coming back have been *meh* at best), but some things just shouldn't be turned into games.

and a barely average one at that, the only thing which saved it were the cutscenes.

From what I recall the game is being done by the guys behind Hunter: The Reconing and some other fairly mediocre / bargain-bin title. At least to their credit they're fans of the original material so they probably have a little bit more interest in putting out something better than some other companies.

I still have doubts, though. It'll probably sell fairly well just due to the title itself.
looks like a great concept the only thing id say is that looks like a ds game the graphics are poor.
I like the 2d/3D cel-shaded graphics, stays closer to the original show animation than 3D would. I always had a problem seeing my favorite shows become 3D (namely Futurama and Simpsons) they always looked weird to me.

You mean they're making a family version of this:

Fantastic! :)

If each level can't ben an irrelevant flashback to a potpourri of popular culture references, due to licensing and copyrights being different with video games, how the Hell are they going to make a game with the Family Guy license?

if it turns out like the futurama game, i will be happy. The cut-scenes did make the game, but it made me play through the game several times.

You mean a Family Guy without endless irrelevant flashbacks to hit or miss jokes? That's crazy talk!
