Family Guy offends Sarah Palin
I'm just sad that so many people seem to think that Palin's bad parenting makes it okay to poke fun at mentally retarded 2 year old children.
Won't someone think of the children!!!!!

Palin is just showing that she will use any opportunity to make a political attack, and that, even when it is revealed to be hypocritically inconsistent, she will time and time again refuse to extend that same courtesy to similar actions started by people within her own party.

She attacks people who mock disabled/handicapped persons based on their political alliance, not based on the content of what they said. This incident reinforces that.

Why the fuck are we going on about Family Guy anyway?

The conflict between Family Guy and Palin is what is fed to us right now as news.

We could focus on something important, but thinking is hard work.

BTW, how about Ellen on American Idol?

Except people aren't talking about Family Guy vs Palin - they're posturing about how everyone here is such a fucking vanguard of American culture that they were into it before everyone else on earth - the posts that aren't about being a fucking poseur are reminding all of us (over and over again) that FG isn't funny.

If you ain't watching "Masterpiece Theatre," then GTFO. You got that paint-by-numbers fruitbat motherfucker on the first page who blogs about GI Joe toys and corporate-manufactured cult films (Repo!) are high culture trying to act like dude has taste and style. The fuck does that have to do with anything? Go pop on a skinny puppy record and pretend they're fucking underground, just GTFO.

We're talking grown up stuff in here.

EDIT: If you need me, I'll be over on the other side of "Hot Topic" browsing KMFDM shirts. We have a system to subvert, and I need to be prepared.

Ami I the only one who thinks all things are fair game in the name of comedy? I've seen countless jokes made at the expense of some mentally retarded person without even a peep out of Palin or anyone else for that matter.

She just happened to get her moose skins in a wad over this because it was a jab at her, if it were a joke about some kid with turrets she wouldn't give a damn.
'meh - talk all the shit about Palin you want. I could care less.

I'm just saying that I, personally, think it's pretty classless to talk crap about her children.

...............

I'm just saying that I find it disturbing that some people rationalize the idea that it's okay for grown adults to verbally abuse children over nationwide airwaves because the parent made a stupid decision. That's all. It's not really something I'm going to debate.
How is noting that her Down's child has Down's "talking crap"?

I think Palin would be bitching about "Life Goes On" if it were on today because it would give her yet another chance to be on TV claiming the media is out to get her. This women plays the permanent victim.

The Simpsons is still GREAT but obviously nothing can ever touch the first 10 or 11(!) god-like seasons. Wait, what are we talking about?

She's been playing the helpless victim card since the last election. She used to say she was being ganged up on because she was a woman, i don't know what her reason is now. She honestly makes women look bad, instead of projecting a image of someone who is strong and can stand up to the men who dominate government, she acts like some helpless little woman being beaten up by the mean old boys.

She frankly needs to grow a pair.

I'm officially endorsing Palin for president.

Somebody who gets pissed off at a throwaway joke should have access to nukular launch codes.

I want me TEOTWAWKI now!

Haha, I remember one of her big speeches, it was all like "I'm A Pitbull grrrr".

Immediately followed by what can only be called her martyr act.

I think she knows she knows she was losing whatever cred she had by defending Rush so notice she had daughter go out and be all upset.

This.
Anyone who DOESN'T vote for her is a He Man Woman Hater
In this thread: People who teach their kids to not listen to valid arguments from someone if they don't respect the person in question.
I'm just trying to be combative at this point.
Pret-ty grown up.
Uh hunh...and in response to my question? Oh wait, it was another one liner that didn't address anything. Just checking.

Sir, please stop taking whatever drugs you are on, it's starting to affect your reasoning.

Riddle me this:
How is it that Rupert Murdoch espouses "the right" on Fox News, but then has the entertainment division which sports some of the most liberal bias out there? I honestly think the guy is some sort of comedic genius along the lines of Andy Kaufman where he wants to confuse people into thinking he is a huge righty, but then also earns his cash from the left. Then again, your average GOP senator right now is crying foul about the stimulus spending, all the while doing their damndest to get some for their state...
It's truly hilarious when you think of it on that level.

Retarded is an actual scientific level of mental capacity. While it's used in a context that can be considered offensive by many, the fact remains that it's a scientific description. Just like a bunghole is the part on a barrel that allows air to move in and release liquid from a tap. But you call someone a bunghole and you're referring to a butt. Now wonder they say American English is damn hard to learn...

Back to Palin, isn't this kind of biting the hand that feeds you? Perhaps the pitbull needs to put her lipstick back on and become a hockey mom again. Drumming up the sympathy/false outrage chorus too many times will result in further political failure out of the poor lady.

Murdoch doesn't truly care about ideology, he cares about dollar signs. He uses shock and controversy to sell his product and will continue to do so as long as it is successful. Look at the reaction people had towards his purchase of the dow jones. People didn't really want him to own the wall street journal because they know the tactics he uses to sell his brand of media.

All this controversy is encompassed within the Fox family, which means that ratings will be high for Family Guy and interest in Sarah Palin will continue to grow.

Palin's is dumb enough to pretend to be outraged at "Hollywood" over this actress' comments and demand an apology
Wow, that was an actual actress for that FG part?

.....Is Greased Up Deaf Guy played by a deaf man?
Nope.

One wonders if they didn't hire a down syndrome actress on purpose for when the controversy hit. And by controversy, I mean of course Sarah Palin's retard rage.

Well that should pretty much nullify any thin ice Palin had to stand on to begin with, with the voice actress herself saying it was just a joke.

Palin had nothing to stand on to begin with.
But the VA saying "it's just a joke" means nothing. Everyone knows it was supposed to be a joke.
Palin is upset that a show portrayed a person with Down's Syndrome as being able to fit in?
I'm guessing that's exactly what Seth MacFarlane was going for. Based on that clip (and I'll admit I didn't see the episode and might be missing something), there didn't appear to be anything that actually made fun of people with Down's Syndrome. He just put the bait out there knowing Sarah Palin would take it. It's likely something he sees as a good thing. It attracts attention to his show while making Sarah Palin look apoplectic. At worst, it offends Palin's fans who likely don't watch Family Guy anyways.

Keep in mind the episodes are written and made months before they air, so this episode was made before the Rahm Emanuel/Limbaugh hypocrisy.

McFarlane was on Real Time w/ Bill Maher, hilarious as usual. Didn't really address the controversy like I thought he would but basically defended how the actress felt about it, she just feels like she's a regular person, she doesn't want Palin speaking up for her.

Everyone who? The people here? Certainly not everyone in the country.
