Guys, you're not in that 67% if you don't live in Japan. The article itself is Japan-based if the editor of Famitsu is saying there wasn't a big hit since Wii Sports.
We all know that Wii Sports was sold separately in Japan and that games like Metroid Prime 3 have far more interest here than in Japan.
The reason more people in Japan aren't playing the Wii is also likely due to lack of third party titles and simple culture interests being different. The PS3 is doing well in Japan, whereas it's not fairing so well with the US. Stuff like that.
And to be fair, Japan's using their DS' more since they get all these "innovative" titles all the time on the DS. It's just that those type of games generally never make it out of that country.
However, there's no denying it. The Wii has a serious

ing drought in some decent titles.
The problem doesn't have to do with the games the Wii has in Japan, it all has to do with Japan becoming a very mobile gaming country. Just look at the sales usually, DS and PSP are topping Japan, and many new games are coming to handhelds these days in Japan, but that's what sells. The main DQ series, Tales series, etc. use to be on a console, and now they are on DS. Also, instead of Japanese developers making a new Mega Man Legends, Parasite Eve, etc. for a console, they end up on a cell phone (because cell phone games perform well). I just think people in Japan prefer gaming on the go, and that's where most games will go from now on.
Anyway, I badly want a Wii right now. There's no denying I never played one, but I seriously don't see what's so bad about it. I could probably name around 15-20 appealing games out for it now, and plus there's VC that crushes both PSN/XBLA in downloads (although a bit pricey).
