Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Stupid question, but is there any way to play the original Deus Ex with a gamepad (not Human Revolution) if I buy the first tier? I'm a convert from console to PC. If not, I still have my PlayStation 2 Deus Ex disc. And I suppose I could play it with PCSX2 if push came to shove.

Deus Ex: GOTY PC version and Deus Ex: Conspiracy PS2 versions are said to be a bit different in design, level-size, UI, and a few other things:

I think the biggest issue w/ Deus Ex: GOTY PC with a gamepad is there are tons of hot-keys. So, yeah - I don't know if trying to get this one set-up onto a controller would & could be the wisest of ideas here. Honestly, this is a FPS - and those are best played, especially old ones w/ tons of hot-keys, with KB/mouse.

Out-the-box and even with KenTie's EXE Mod installed (yes, I recommend the mod highly, to stop audio from not playing properly issues and other weird issues), it ain't recognizing my X360 GamePad straight-up. Same with Revision mod too.

You might have to mess w/ a mod (can't seem to find one), KB-to-controller app's, gamepad app's, or just use Steam's built-in features to force a controller set-up...or something of the sort. Same seems to go for Deus Ex: Revision (free mod) too.

I would try Steam's built-in controller set-up first; start with that. See if it's okay to you.

If you want to go further, here's some app's you can use, to try to force keyboard strokes to be mapped with a gamepad and/or set-up gamepads to work with a game; you'll have to run the proper app when running the game:

JoyToPad - https://joytokey.net/en/

Pinnacle Game Profiler (costs $ and has profiles) - http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/

There is a Deus Ex profile, BTW - http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/game-profiles/d

Controller Companion (costs $ and does have profiles in the Workshop players made) - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=791925680&searchtext=deus+ex

CC Profile for Deus Ex: GOTY (set-up with X360 pad w/ controls similar to PS2 version) - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=791925680&searchtext=deus+ex

I don't have Pinnacle, but I do have Controller Companion. Maybe I'll check the CC Profile out, for the heck of it.

EDIT:

Yeah, not thrilled w/ how the CC profile's set-up. Controls are in old-school control set-up spots, not how most games would do them in this era. Would have to edit or make a new one myself.

Thanks, MysterD. I could probably try it with a Steam controller, but even then, I don't think that it would be enjoyable. There are times when people are so focused on trying to shoehorn in the fun that they lose the fun in the process. I appreciate the thoughtful analysis though.

For some reason I have an extra copy of the Controller Companion in my Steam inventory. If your intrested shoot me a friend request on steam. (Same as here.)

Let me know if you do... I ignore friends requests must times.

You don't have to use a Steam controller for this game.

Other controllers can work & tinkering, with some messing around - but again, I don't think it's ideal for this game.

There are settings w/in Steam (in Big Picture Mode, look under Preferences/Settings) to setup most controller types - i.e. Xbox controllers, Playstation controllers, etc. If you have any of those controllers and/or any adapters to get them to work on PC, try those first.

Paypal charges a fee now or is it your bank account/card that you're paying through Paypal with that's charging you some 10% bullshit?
I don't understand how it works which is why I asked. I put a $25 prepaid Visa debit card on my Paypal account as the primary card to charge for a $22 transaction on Fanatical. As I understand it, Paypal doesn't charge fees on any transactions handled with an American retailer, but there is a small fee for transactions handled with international retailers. And Fanatical is overseas. I think I'll be OK though.

STAR DEAL:

DEX: Enhanced Version - Steam key = 95% off @ $1.00

ITAD info on prices & bundles for Dex - https://isthereanydeal.com/game/dex/info/

Lowest is 99 cents for Dex alone.

Dex has been bundled a few times.
Steam shows free DLC for extra costumes and Czech voice acting as well. Don't know if these are part of the bundle or not.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/403520/Dex__Extra_Outfits/

https://store.steampowered.com/app/455760/Dex__Czech_Voice_Acting/

The Czech voice acting adds a Dark Souls-level of difficulty because you won't know what the hell is going on.

  • Syberia 1
  • Syberia 2
  • Syberia 3 (Base-game)

You know you're a cheap (ass gamer) when you question buying a 3 game bundle for 4 dollars because you own 2 of the games already.

PM me for Syberia 1/2 keys

I would question buying a three game bundle for $4 even if I owned none of the games, who buys bundles at more than $1 per game?

Looks like it's $6.99 and on sale right now - http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/

They also toss in Padstarr license also (i.e. newer version of Pinnacle).

Have you used Padstarr?
I do not recommend PGP or Padstarr. The developer of both of those software has died some years ago, so the software hasn't been updated in years and you probably won't get a key if purchased/no support.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/aeucwq/pinnacle_game_profiler_scam/

I recommend Controller Companion which you can find on steam and REWASD

https://www.rewasd.com/

REWASD can be a bit pricey, but is totally worth it if you have an xbox elite controller since it is the only remapper that can also assign the rear paddle buttons as far as I know. Wouldn't be surprised if they have the software on sale during black friday/holidays.

Wow, that's horrible about PGP and Padstarr's developer. Didn't know that. :(

I actually have Controller Companion.

Any AC bundle that includes Legacy of the Blade is a hard pass. Could charge a Metro Last Light for it and it’d be too much for me to support that garbage.

Killer Bundle 12 is pretty appealing for $4.  Includes:

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter

The Surge

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

The King of Fighters XIV Steam Edition

SNK 40th Anniversary Collection

Atari Vault

I own the first two, but am probably willing to pay that just for SNK 40th.

Thanks! I didn't own any of them. I believe this deal is part of some sort of a daily bundle deal event. So I'm looking forward to whatever the others will look like.

That’s actually really good, assuming you don’t own most of it. And Atari Vault comes with the 2600 version of Basic Math. Basic Math, you guys!

Real Sports Tennis is the real steal of the bundle... It was quite possible the best tennis game made till virtua tennis came out on the dreamcast.

Is The Surge any good?
Yep.

Played it during a Free Weekend.

It's like Dark Souls, but in a futuristic setting where adding robotic body parts & weapons has become a thing.

It has a few cool twist & turns on the genre, such as the special kills (when an enemy has low health) which let you aim & cut-off a specific body part so that you can get whatever robotic piece of a loot drop that you cut off - i.e. aim for a leg and cut that off, get leg armor; aim for an arm, get arm armor; etc etc.

I'm about 4-5 hours into it or so.

The Killer bundle sold out and the Rising Games bundle "ended". I can't remember what the time limit was for each of these, but I didn't realize they would sell out/end so soon. Glad I bought both yesterday.

It seems like they're looking into restocking the killer bundle

Well, Souls games are basically action-RPG's with a heavy focus on old-school Nintendo type of difficulty.

I get it, though - for many, these "so-called" Souls clones (like The Surge, Lords of the Fallen, etc), they often aren't on Dark Souls level and they just ain't From Software's Souls-borne games.

But wasn't Severance: Blades of Darkness before Demon's Souls? More like Severance-clones or Severance-clones, amirite? ;)

The KIng's Field series were the grandparents of the Souls Series.
