Stole this from DVD Talk but its a good deal.

Go to DVDsoon.com and look up Farscape Starburst.
Use the VISA2005CE code for %15 off your order(Think you need to use a VISA card)
My order for the first 5 installments(5th being a preorder for next edition) of the Starburst collection was 63 Canadian, or about $51 USD.

This is better than DeepDiscount in cost, and also because you can preorder the next release. DVDsoon will probably take a little bit longer to get to your door, but its worth the wait for the price.

The first season is still $29.99 at Best Buy. Although everyone near me is out of stock, and the website has a price of $109 or something.

Whats the difference b/n the already released versions and the "Starburst" editions?

I think the difference is that the Starburst editions have a little more extras, and come in only 3 packages per season , while the old edition had a dvd per 2 episodes, so takes up more real estate.

The Starburst editions are cheaper, for starters. Only three volumes per season and each volume costs $25 retail, but can usually be found for less. The main draw, however, is the extras that are included. These include commentary, interviews, mini-features and the like that were not included on the old release. So for less money, you get Farscape plus the extras that were not on the old DVD's.

How is DVDsoon.com's reputation? Anybody here ever bought anything from them? I'm always willing to be patient to get a better price on something I want, but I'd want to know what kind of a wait and what kind of service to expect. I've had nothing but good experiences with DDD, but have never bought from DVDsoon.

i've only bought one dvd from them, because it was the cheapest place for that one : Ginger Snaps(the widescreen version no one has with special features).
However, it was on backorder so took a little while to get it. But I did, and it worth the wait, because i got it for half the price it goes for on eBay.
I wonder if they will release a season box for the starburst editions
Lately ADV has been realesing vol 1's with a box with room for more copies but that's with the Anime's series. Since they never did that I doubt it but anything is possible Hopefully they will sell an empty mega box with vol 12 or something with room for vols 1-11 and Peackeeper wars.
1) What is ADV?

2) Weren't the original releases sold separately and then sold boxed?
1) ADV the company that is realesing them.

2) True but they seemed to have changed there marketing practices some since then. As nice as it would be to get these in a boxset or mini-boxes per season. I've held off on buying the series for a long time not waiting anymore.

just took advantage of this for the 1st two 2nd season releases...$26.06 CA at the end (I guess that's like $21 US?)

Thanks for the Head's Up!

Thanks for the headsup! I just ordered the first season of the Starburst editions (Volumes 1, 2, and 3), and the total came to about $45.10 US. This total included standard shipping with a box, and I used the VISA coupon code to reduce the cost by about $8-9. Not bad at around $15 per volume!

So how's the delivery time with this company? Manji, how soon did you received yours?
i just got shipping notices for 2 of the dvds today and yesterday....they aren't too fast
I just got two shipping notices as well. I ordered when it was first posted on dvdtalk.

i still am waiting on an order for zelda gamecube(it was the french edition) from this site.

this site is one of the worst, they will charge your card immediately and then not ship for months later(if at all)

they can get away with charging your card immediately since they are in canada and do not have to abide by the usa better business bureau.

if it looks like this is shipping for people, that is a good sign

They can get away with charging your card immediately since they clearly state they will do so before you place your order. Sorry that you are still waiting for an order for zelda gamecube, but it might be more informative if you would tell us how long you have been waiting. I assume you didn't order it yesterday.

I remember DVDsoon. They refuse to honor their pricing mistake for Four Swords Adventure for $19 when the game came out a couple months ago. The first people who ordered got their games, but those after were left hanging. They pretty much lied about not having it instock (I think their excuse was Nintendo discontinue the game or something). After about 3-4 months I canceled my order when I order from Gamefly.

This reminds me, I still need to collect the $19 credit back from them.

I've only had one experience with them - and it was horrible.

They charge your credit card immediately too.

I bought Zelda: Four Swords from them when it was 19.99. Never sent it. I've been waiting since september for it to be back "in stock."
