Fast Five Steelbook at Best Buy $24.99 10/4

I actually ordered the steelbook from their link on the website for the steelbook for in store pick up. Hopefully the employees grabbed the right one, but I might be giving them too much credit lol.
I ordered mine for pickup in store this morning around 6:00am EST. I got the confirmation e-mail, headed to BB and saw there were 8 senior citizens in line at Customer Service pickup. I walked over to the shelf, saw they only had 2 Steelbooks, grabbed one and checked out normally. I'll let the online pickup expire.

This was around 11:30am @ Iselin, NJ
Thanks to your post I went a head and ordered for in-store pickup 30 minutes before the store opened and got my confirmation around 10am. I arrived at the store at 11am and browsed to see if they had more steelbooks available. Only saw people looking through the displays searching for steelbooks, seems they had already sold out. Picked my steelbook from in-store pickup.

Ditto that for me. I thought there'd be SOME on the shelves, but there were none.

I was on the fence about this, but went for it anyway because I can always pick up standard packaging later.
There were a number of those lame G1 steelbooks, pass... It's not that rare as the Lunchbox Lion King edition.
Is the Lion King suppose to be rare?

I only saw about eight of the fast five steelbooks and three (?) of the lion king lunchboxes, so it would be more rare... but i still know a best buy trying to get rid of the bambi lunchbox from when that was released.

lol... I had a good laugh when I picked up fast five in the morning, I went up to the front desk with all the new releases. I noticed the lone steelbook so I picked it up and started looking at. I wasn't planning on buying because it was a g1 case, well I guess this whole time there was this old man picking up is new releases. As soon as I put that sucker down that old fart darted for it like I dropped some gold, I guess you just had to be there.

My local BB had less than 10 steelbook versions of this available. When I got there there was only one left on the shelf so I snagged it. I asked and they said they weren't restocking the steelbook version, what they got is all they were ever getting (supposedly). BB rep said that first thing this morning a few lucky folks bought the steelbooks right away. My stepdaughter actually got me another one from a farther BB by her school. I have an extra one if anyone is interested in trading for newer-ish released games. PM me what you want to offer, I'll try to be fair. I do have an offer from a friend right now for $35 so I apologize in advance if I decide to take it.

Same here too, decided to order a 2nd copy for in-store pickup because there was no way I could get out of work early and I don't trust BB.com 100% to ship a steelbook well (despite shrike's reassurance :) ) plus I figured it was a 75% chance they'd pull the wrong thing. (in my experience, ordering an LE/special edition on release day rarely gets you the right thing)

I was pretty shocked when I went to pick it up tonight-- store was totally out of them and they actually put the steelbook aside for me! And it even seemed to be in decent shape.

We'll see what they ship me and I'll probably end up returning one...

(for a movie I wasn't particularly interested in I went to a lot of trouble for a steelbook ;) )

ordered one online yesterday morning and did not make it by to pick it up until yesterday evening. Luckily they pulled the right one as they did not have any more on the floor.

Pretty much all empty on the shelf at my local BB yesterday when I got there. Luckily my online order for pickup was actually right, they held a steelbook copy for me on the side. Even luckier, my stepdaughter bought the steelbook from another BB nearby.
I can't believe I was freaked out about a limit  Store I stopped at easily had 20 and they were in 3 different places. I don't understand all the hate about the size, this is what almost all my SB BD's come in (Twilight, Battle LA, Hurt Locker) so it doesn't bother me..

It was quite a surprise to see it at $19.99 b/c I was not able to check the forums here before I left..
where did u get your battle LA? mine is blu-ray size from walmart.

The Best Buy exclusive edition is... The BB on Union Sq sold out on first day. 23rd Street Chelsea got a few left, but probably all gone by now. I opened my copy and it's not really that "exclusive" exclusive. Inside the box, the 3D edition of TLK is exactly same as everywhere else, just the tin lunchbox is exclusive (perhaps you can buy that elsewhere too). Basically, the lunchbox is $5 (the 3D edition is $29.99 before coupon, the BB exclusive is $34.99 before coupon).
